I'm going to disagree with this take and play devil's advocate.

Is it possible that signing Kaep would actually be a + financial move? Think of the media attention, jersey sales, and ticket sales. Especially if done by a rebuilding team. I don't understand why we automatically assume that it's a financial negative.

For all the demands and threats, how many actually stopped watching the NFL for good because of the protests? I'm willing to bet that more would tune in to support the decision than would tune out, especially if you made it about politics.

16 TD to 4 picks isn't a bad statline. I'll take him over Brady, that's for sure.

Tbf that last Niners team was a disaster anyway. You can't pin that solely on the QB.

Was that why he ate at his table alone? Is that why he tried to screw his best friends girlfriend?

No but team chemistry was lacking and a starting QB can be partially to blame for that. It's a leadership position and he didn't carry his weight, stats nor intangibles.

The mounting interceptions, sacks and losses are taking a toll on Colin Kaepernick. And his teammates.

The 2-5 49ers, whose fall from grace is reflected in the plunge of their one-time wunderkind quarterback, have a leader whose confidence is completely lost, according to a report from Fox Sports, and his teammates aren’t exactly picking him up.

After a particularly brutal defeat to the Seahawks on Thursday, in which Kaepernick passed for just 124 yards and was sacked six times, the 27-year-old lost the game and showed signs of losing his locker room.

“His confidence is completely shot,” insider Jay Glazer said Sunday on a FOX pregame show. “It’s not that [the players] don’t like him. But he’s just alone, on an island in that locker room. There’s not a lot of people he connects with.

“Confidence-wise, he’s just buried right now.”

It’s a meteoric nosedive for the same player who fueled San Francisco to the Super Bowl after the 2012 season, when the 49ers’ fearsome defense — led by coach Jim Harbaugh — and Kaepernick’s dual-threat offense nearly lifted them over the Ravens for the title.

But a few short years later, with no more Harbaugh, a defense less of a shell and more of a fine thread of what it used to be, and a sputtering offense in which Kaepernick’s legs are minimized, the 49ers have to wonder if they have the right leader under center.

For owner Jed York to contemplate his quarterback is one thing; for Kaepernick’s own teammates to leave him on that island is another.

With a seven-year, $126 million deal signed before the 2014 season, it would be difficult for the 49ers to cut rope and go in a different direction at quarterback. But if the 49ers have their future quarterback, Kaepernick needs to find a way out of his hole, and soon.

Yes, Doug, but did you take into account what NFL scout Al Sharpton said?
6/10/2020 8:25 PM
Kap did and does have issues with police brutality. He's legit. Maybe he could have done it better but is there a right answer?

I just wish he didn't use the anthem. Why not do it before or after the game? Nobody like **** in their face.

They don't like when the cops do it and paying customers don't like when washed-up pine riders do it.

Kaep was still good enough to be a QB. That 3-13 season wasn't all on him. I'm not one of the people who believe that the NFL should apologize or force him back in, but he would have been on an NFL roster if not for extraneous circumstances.
Matt Schaub, Jeff Driskel, Luke Falk, Sean Mannion and David Blough STARTED games last year. Josh freaking McCown still had a job last season. Kap should EASILY have a job.

They ran him out because he PEACEFULLY took a knee for the magic song.

It was, and still is, disgusting how he was railroaded. If you knew, read and supported the ACTUAL constitution you would have DEFENDED him in the first place but neanderthals like allMOUTH think a song and a piece of cloth are the be-all, end-all when it comes to those silly human rights.

You can disagree with what he said and did all you want, but do you have the BALLS to stand up for his right to do it?

And spare me the “workplace” bullshit. The farmhands aren’t going to take anymore from their white billionaire masters. They make up 70 plus percent of the league and now WILL realize that power.

While I fully support peaceful protest and believe it is the right of every American to do so, I don't believe it belongs in any workplace, including arenas and stadiums, and that it definitely shouldn't take place during this Country's Nation Anthem.
its not a workplace

its a church
