Lebron is pretty much the best sim player no matter the format. Both Steph & Wilt have weaknesses in this format. I agree wholeheartedly with Ben on this issue (how many times have you heard THAT on this site?). He’s completely correct in that having those three actually helps the owners at the end of the draft more than it hurts them. Open it up & let chaos reign.
No matter how this plays out, I want those three unbanned.
It’s also definitely more SAVAGE to let someone have Bron.
What would Wilts weakness be? limited position flex, high usage with meh eFG? With no cap I would still take him 2 I think. And Steph is a little more of a discussion because of his lower minutes. But I would say his worst season is either 18-19 with 2300 minutes or 12-13 with 49 D, 55efg and 22 ast%. That's not too bad though.
Not really any weakness. It'd be a challenge building different types of teams to get the most out of him, but in this format, I believe it could be done.
I just don't think that - in this format - there is anybody just so head and shoulders good they deserve to be banned. Even if I never got a sniff of any of those three guys that are banned, I'd rather they be there. It's also really subjective to ban certain players. DH was talking about maybe Kareem & Shaq, too. Next thing you know, you've got 10 players banned. Then 24. If I wanted to play in a league with a bunch of banned players, I'd play in a banned league. I did this one because it was a special thing with special timing, but I have no interest in repeating the process unless the entire player pool is available. I'm just one guy, though, and easily replaced if the majority wants to keep the big three banned.
