Wow! Was that current standings AFTER my brilliant 0-5 performance in the afternoon games or before?
OK, so here is what I have gleaned from my teams total performance this far:
--Ray Allen is INCREDIBLY inconsistent! Guess I should have known this going in, but I am surprised how often he goes for 8-10 pts on 3-11 shooting with 1-5 from 3. 3 reb and 4 assists. One of every FOUR games does Allen go for 24 pts on 11-18 shooting and 4-8 from 3 with 4 reb and 5 assts. Incredibly frustrating for a tier 3 bomber.
--Dikembe Mutombo is aslo INCREDIBLY inconsistent! I cannot BELIEVE how many games he will go for 4 pts on 2-7 shooting, grab a whopping 5 reb and 1 block! "WTF finger wagger! Yout got a 12/24 O/Dreb % and a 6% block rating--do DO something!!!
--Despite having Mutombo and Duncan and their 90+ D in every season, opposing centers seem to be scoring at will. It seems like every damn game I am facing Shaq, Hakeem, Admiral, DHoward or Ewing, and ALL of them are going off for 30+ each game!
--George Gervin is NOT the scorer he SHOULD BE! Most games, the Iceman is a pedestrian 6-13 from the floor, 0 3's and a couple of FT's for about 16 points. WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE 30+ POINT GAMES HE USED TO DELIVER EVERY NIGHT WHEN HE PLAYED??? And of course, he doesn't add any reb or asst.
--Pairing Ray Allen and Gervin at the 2 and 3 was a HUGE mistake on my part. I THOUGHT I had more than enough rebounding with Mutombo, Duncan, Rondo and Mel Daniels. NOPE. All five of my teams are getting outrebounded consistently. There has not even been a THOUGHT of using Eaton to back up Mutombo, because I need Daniels rebounding too much.
--Rajon Rondo doesn't play enough minutes! Yeah I shoulda known this coming in, but Rondo can only play over 34 min a game in ONE season. The rest are 29-31 a game. Brevin Knight has helped, but he doesn't score enough for my needs.
--Finally, I thought my strategy of drafting 11 of 12 guys who have five usable seasons would help me out BIG TIME, but the rest of you guys are BRILLIANT, and it doesn't seem to be helping me at all. I just don't know how so many of you can draft so many players who have ONE good season or maybe two, and have to use min $ guys for THREE OR FOUR leagues can succeed, but all your opposing lineups look damn tough, so I was pretty much wrong.
