Looks like they took the thread down.

It just got moved to non-sports

Summary:
1) Seble says we condemn racism or whatever
2) People get livid at him and call it “censorship”
3) But they’re defending racism
4) It’s obvious to us (but not them)
5) lol

Imagine throwing a temper tantrum over hearing “racism is bad”

look up Karl Popper's 'Paradox of Tolerance' if you're not familiar,

tldr?

'you've got to draw the line somewhere' - inveterate line stepper

The Darwin Award race is really really competitive this year but I think there’s one clear front runner

Seble lives!
How quickly that thread devolved into right wing sh** posting doesn’t give me great vibes about the larger WiS community.
Yeah, I made the mistake of clicking the "show post" on a post that was below the low thresh hold of quality set by WIS and promptly exited said forum.
Thanks for the warning.
I was in that thread early, for better or worse, and saw all the posts that were eventually semi-hidden by seble.

I've been sitemailing back and forth with the individuals who raised a ruckus over WIS' statement - to some extent agreeing with parts of their worldview, and in other cases explaining that I have a different perspective, and telling them why I as a white dude participated in a Juneteenth rally. I'll let you know when minds change, spirits converge, and stars align.

Just read it. Very well said. Thank you.

I’m proud of my basketball guys btw. Way less % of a-holes in here than the other sports forums from the look of it.

Agreed. I will say that I've never encountered any ideological rants or squabbles during my (more limited) time spent on the NFL game. Not sure where these fellows spend their WIS time...although it looks like one is a mainstay of the hockey game.

From 07-11 I was pretty active in the Non-Sports forum and there was almost none of this. It was almost entirely just good natured banter. I think its transformation has really been in the last 5 years or so.

As it relates to Savage, I think it was a mistake for me to join this league as I take all this stuff too seriously. Seeing a 1-4 cycle sends me on kind of a spiral and ends up affecting my mood the rest of the day.
