if you have a real problem with WIS saying racism is bad, what does that say about you? Who knows how WIS really feels? While I don't think the message means much, if anything, I have no real problem with them putting it out there. There is nothing wrong with saying they are against racism.

I'm really sorry that you have to put up with a bunch of corporations saying that they support equality. You truly are the victim in all of this.

The point isn't that the message is wrong. It is the subtext of the existence of the message itself. Of course, saying racism is bad is not an objectionable statement. The thing is, I have been on this site for 17 years (17 years where a lot of crazy things have happened in the world) and there has never been a statement made like this on the front page. The existence of the statement implies that the statement is essentially timely right now, which is the crux of what people are arguing about. Most people, except the real crazies, know racism is bad, what they disagree with is the idea that it is somehow getting worse right now. A disagreement with the way the media pushes a narratives that divides people and creates dissension.

Lets say it was 1692 and we were in Salem. And our local post office put up a disclaimer that they think "witchcraft is bad. We want people to only be good to each other and not cast evil spells on people." The implication of the message is that witchcraft is being practiced to a degree that makes the warning necessary. A student of American history would be a fool to deny the existence of racism. But it is just as foolish to pretend that we are not living in an age where the fear of racism might not be equal to its actual prevalence.

Most racists probably do not think racism is bad. How many racists there are is the question. You don't seem to think racism is prevalent. I think it is more prevalent than you think, although not as prevalent as some others here may think. I also think the reason we are seemingly seeing more racism now is not that their numbers have magically grown, but your buddy Mr Trump has made it seem like it is okay to show your racist feelings .

Just a side note on this whole racism sidebar: Nig Clarke is now Jay Clarke. At first, I thought I added the wrong guy in my "progressive league" (I just realized the irony in that statement), but no, they changed his name in WIS (not baseball reference). I guess all the guys named Heinie should have their names changed too...

My view is that EVERY company saying it now is for political expediency, when it should have been evident in their practices ALL ALONG. 99% of the companies aren't racist in their belief systems, which is why "UNconscious bias" is all the rage now...

OK. Now that's going too far IMO. So, did they change Spook Jacobs name, too?
Are they gonna sanitize the Franchise names, too? There goes the Boston Braves History!

In Arizona they tried sanitizing History, too.
But there were far too many "names" needing sanitized for the crazy snowflakes like Salamander.
Too many peaks called "nipple", or "breasts", even a "*****" or two.
They gave it up after changing Squaw Peak to Piestewa Peak of some such sheit.
Everyone still calls it Squaw Peak and we have a Squaw Peak drive and a Squaw Peak Lane, and prolly a Squaw Peak brewery and Squaw Peak Massage Parlor for all I know.

It's time for normal folks to say ENOUGH to these loons looking for safe places for their own neurosis in a world that recognizes NO safe spaces!

The most WIS thing ever is that it took almost three weeks after every other corporate entity in the world posted anti-racism messages for seble to finally muster one up. I mean, Blackout Tuesday on Instagram was June 2! WIS just stumbled into the office I guess. Maybe hard at work adding fumbles to the GD code after 15 years or whatever.
