its fine to disagree but i suppose i'll add that maxing a player is only part of the story. players play important roles as NT-time sophs and juniors (sometimes even as freshman), and many of those will not be maxed no matter what your approach. at that point it becomes a matter of what do you need and when do you need it. in my opinion, tinkering to control which abilities are ready at which point offers significant value.
I agree. It's all situational to me. So it's hard to have a cookie cutter setting. The statement about "16 or less in conditioning for freshman isn't a good idea"..... what of your freshman big happens to have 71 Ath orange/yellow, 2 Spd black, and 78 orange/yellow ST. But yet has green 40 in every remaining big man core? Would you put 16 minutes on conditioning in that case? I likely would not. And that's a very realistic player.
On the flip side, let's say it's a totally different player.... if I have a green 10 LP, and green 67 REB, I'm likely gonna have more than 16 min in the LP, and sometimes less than 16 in the REB. Depending on every other attributes current standing vs potential
