Single game assist record? Topic

I'm sure someone has had more than this but it's by far the most I've ever seen. Has anyone seen more than 17 assists in a single game?

That’s awesome!

Very impressive. I feel like someone posted about a 20 assist game back in the day but I think that was under 2.0. Definitely the highest I've seen in 3.0.

Simmy had this kid in Knight manage a 26 point 16 assist game: https://www.whatifsports.com/hd/GameResults/BoxScore.aspx?gid=18439498&tab=boxscore

He already owns the school record for career assists, and is only a junior. Very impressive.

He's on pace to break the world assist record in D3 as well. He may fall a little short as we won't be very deep next season and there won't be as much scoring. I don't know if he will make it, but i'm hoping.

His season average is even more impressive. 8 APG is unreal, especially considering his Ast/TO ratio. I hope he breaks the record.

Brett Cooper is now chasing the Naismith all time assist record.
Current total 697 and the Record is 846. He's 12 games into the regular season. It's going to be very close. He's facing all Sim AI from here on out until the NT, so it's possible, but he needs to average 8.3 per game assuming we make it no further than the 1st round of the NT. That said, he had many 10 assist games last season so it's definitely possible.

Wow those are sky high assist numbers. I've never had a guy with 600 yet. And I run a lot of uptempo press across multiple teams. Making deep runs. And I've also had a lot of stud PAS and BH. I've had 100/100 guys with 0 distro (although I grasp it takes more than just 100/100 to produce big assist totals) .

Very nice numbers you're getting there

I think because his athleticism is so high for D3 that's helping a lot too. I've never had more than 5.5/game myself and I run fast pace. I think this guy is just special. I wish I knew what I did to make the numbers so high. We will see next season when Poole takes over how he does.

8/25/20 Update. Brett Cooper is 73 assists away with 10+ games left. Averaging 9.2 assists per game in conference play, he's still on pace to become the all time assist leader in Naismith.

Keep us posted. Kid's a beast.

After suffering from his worst conference performance and 3rd worst performance of the season with only 4 assists last night, Brett Cooper tonight overcame early foul trouble and managed to finish with 8 assists bringing his total assists to 785. He is now 5 assists away from overtaking 2nd place in career assists in world Naismith. With 4 regular season games left he is now 61 assists away from the career assist record. Since we are facing all Sim AI, we are pretty much guaranteed 3 CT games and barring an opening round NT loss (currently projected as a 1 or 2 seed) should have at least 8 total games in which he would need to average 7.6 assists per game. If we make it to the 2nd round of the NT it will drop to 6.8 and if we make it to the Sweet 16 he will need to average 6.1. He's currently averaging 7.4 per game so the record is definitely achievable.

Got us on the edge of our seats with this drama. I had a similar experience with a kid vying for my *team* record in assists and steals. Wound up with the assists record but fell shy of the steals record by like 8 steals by following up a 5 steal game with a series of 0-1-0-1 steal games.

Brett Cooper followed another foul trouble game in which he only had 4 assists last night, tonight he followed that up with 11 assists keeping him right on pace to barely break the record. With 2 regular season games and likely 3 conference tournament games along with a minimum of 1 NT game. He needs to average 7.3 assists per game to tie the assist record. The coaching staff is rumored to be holding their breath because they expect it to be extremely close. Athletic Directer Wes Moses was unavailable for comment.
