God, you like everyone else are using this quote out of context. He said the founders viewed slavery as a "necessary evil" which is completely historically accurate.

To take his quote and say Cotton believes slavery was a "necessary evil" is just outright shady reporting, meant to feed the outrage machine and confirm the worldview of true believing lefties like yourself.

I'm well aware of the context of the quote, and it doesn't help Cotton. It's not an innocent statement. You have to ask yourself why he mentions the fact that the founders viewed slavery as a necessary evil. In the context of a speech barraging the 1619 Project and rejecting the idea of institutional racism, the reason behind why Cotton brings up slavery is fairly obvious. It's a justification of slavery, no matter how you phrase it.

Cotton is fully justifying the founding fathers in his speech. That means that yes, he too would view slavery as a necessary evil.

The real "shady reporting" is people like you who think "it's a fact tho get owned lefties" and don't even bother to question why Cotton brings it up to begin with. You're like the people who constantly talk about 13/50 and try to get out of that subtext by repeating that "it's a fact, it's a fact, stop getting upset over facts!"

Only people like tang and crazy correander can justify/ignore things like damaging a Federal Courthouse and multiple public statues, stray rifle magazines lying around, Molotov cocktails and shooting ballbearings at police.

I'm pretty sure protesters are setting multiple fires per night on Federal property... But feel free to ignore that reality.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the official document that justified the use of more officers in Portland cited a fence being taken down and graffiti.

But it's ******* laughable (and scary) that mild harm to a courthouse justifies use of violent force on protests far away from the courthouse to some of you.
