OMG - I finally figured out who I was going to take, and just before I posted, I realized I overlapped a couple of years with a previous pick. DAMN. This is really hard. It's especially difficult for me because I pretty much have to take two Group B teams now, since I can't afford to wait until the very last pick to take my second group B team, since I don't want to get stuck with $5 million worth of 1899 Spiders.

Yup. I found a team I was super excited about - then I realized the 5-year gap overlapped with one of my other teams by 1. But that was enough to mess everything up.

OK - I think I have my selections. Both Group B

1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 Kansas City Royals
1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 California Angels

So my four selections include...

1894-1898 Baltimore Orioles (Group C)
1963-1967 Chicago White Sox (Group A)
1989-1993 Kansas City Royals (Group B)
1979-1983 California Angels (Group B)

That basically gives me 80+ years of a Group A team (not White Sox) to find a starting 1B or OF. I think I can manage that o.k.

That was my theory going in, that group 2 was thinner than group 3...group 1 was 3-4 times deeper So I waited on them, we’ll see how that works out...

I have a Group A team (franchise and 5-year period) in mind that I don't think will be a popular selection. If they do indeed get back to me, I can upgrade a bunch of spots that are currently being occupied by the two teams I just selected. Even with my 1890's Orioles hitters and 1960's White Sox pitchers, I can switch around players and positions if I need to. Maximum flexibility is critical when you are picking last.
