not saying it doesn't move, but there seem to be less people in the center and more going to extremes, both left and right.
Would you say Joe Biden, the democratically voted nominee of the Democratic party, is extreme?
No. Would you disagree with me that more and more people are moving to extremes, and there are less people in the center?

No, because I think the center has moved. There are more and more people going to the right extreme as evidenced by their party. But Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, they’re hated by the left just as much as the right hates them, maybe more so. The Democratic Party is center left, as evidenced by Bernie and Warren being roundly rejected by the majority - But I don’t know what the GOP is. Anyone that’s put Trump at the head of their party is something else.

Today Trump claimed Biden -- who credits his Catholic faith with helping him get through the premature deaths of a wife, a daughter, and a son -- is "against God." THAT is extreme.

well, Trump is an idiot. I give nothing he says any credence. Yo Semite??? Really?
and that is part of the problem..the dem far left hates the dem centrists. The republican far right may not like the republican centrists (if there is such a thing) but they will still vote for them, acknoledging that they'd rather have a repub that will make hem somewhat unhappy in office than a democrat who will make the exceedingly unhappy in office. The democratic far left does not seem to realize this. That's how we got Trump in the first place.

But I can flip that Trump argument and expand - Republican centrists might not like the far right but they voted Trump, so are they actually centrists?

Bernie and the far left lost the dem nomination. Twice.

So which extreme is really getting more people and what center is really holding?

Klobuchar voters are weird there. And Warren voters showing why they’re the highest educated.

Maybe they learned their lesson last time??? and 4% of Sanders supporters are going to vote for Trump? How the hell do you explain that?

Stop kidding yourself. We got Trump because ole Hil had it “in the bag” and nobody took Prez. Shitmupantz seriously as a candidate. I don’t see complacency as a major problem this time.

Why are you so desperate to blame the left?

The 4% might be economic populists who like Bernie's trade policy, idk. Why not focus on the fact that Bloomberg and Klobuchar need to corral their supporters? Hasn't this "everything is the left's fault" narrative been done enough?
8/6/2020 11:22 PM
I'm going to go ahead and say that the 4% are unlikely to cost the Dems the election.

By the way, the narrative that Sanders/Bernie Bros cost Clinton the election in 16 is BS.

No, they're definitely on the list, after their months of "no difference between Trump and Hillary" bullshit, which swear to god I haven't seen a single one apologize for, that's cool, and their DNC performance - did they boo John Lewis? I forget. (No, I don't.)

But they're like 6th or 7th on the list behind the 30 year right wing smear campaign that even worked a little on you, basic American mysoginy, a **** poor media performance desperate for the horserace, good old American racism, reality tv, and sure, fine, the campaign was B level.

No. too many democrats voted for someone other that HRC because they so disliked her. That gave Trump the election. I really dislike HRC, but I voted for her because much as I dislike her, I figured she would not be as bad as Trump. Looks like I was right. I know of too many dems who refused to vote for her and either did not vote for anyone, or voted for a third party candidate with no chance of winning. That is the same as a vote for Trump in my opinion.
Now, I am done arguing about this. Every time I post around here, I end up sorry I did.

Most Bernie supporters who went Trump in the general were far more anti-Hillary than pro-Bernie. The 2020 primaries proved that.

Secondly, more Hillary 08 supporters went to McCain than Bernie voters to Trump.

The whole narrative about Bernie, or his supporters, costing Hillary the election is faulty in numerous ways. I don't see how Bernie, in specific, could have done more.
