$70M question:

I'm assuming there is no miminum for real life PA or IP on the base team. Is that correct? (ie: If a guy had one AB for your team that year, you can twist him)
Correct

So 06gsp asked the question regarding what would happen with a combined season if it involved a twist. What happens if a player on your base team that you choose NOT to twist to a different year also played for a different franchise in that same year?

Does that mean you would get $2 million for the part of the season that your player played for a different team and then no penalty for the part of the season that your player played on the base team?

And does it matter if it's the combined or partial?

For example... if your main team was 1984 Indians and you twisted Rick Sutcliffe to the partial 1984 Cubs?

I was under the assumption that as long as it doesn’t say your franchise, you get the $2 mil, even if it’s combined

I don't think I entirely follow. If you use a player from your base team, there is no impact. It doesn't matter if he also played for other teams that season or not.

What happens if you use the combined season of a player that played for your base team but you pick the other franchise?

E.G. Your Base Team is say the 2008 NYY. A player on the 2008 NYY also played for, let's say, the 2008 Boston Red Sox.

So what happens if you pick the 2008 Boston Red Sox partial version of a player that also played for the 2008 NYY. Or more murky, what happens if you pick the combined 2008 Boston Red Sox version of a player that played for the 2008 NYY?

If I "twist" the 1984 Cleveland Sutcliffe to 1984 Cubs partial, isn't that considered a twist to a new team even if it's the same season? That's not really playing for his base team. This seems like a +$2 million example.

justinlee's question is if I use a combined version of the same season, but the a different team? I can see this going either way (either +$2M or no impact).

I dont want to put the cart before the horse since I am on the bubble, but I just spent a boat load of time building this team and used partial seasons of a different franchise for the 2 million boost. Seems to me the theme was written to allow it...

I think that's the case. I think the bigger question is if choosing a combined season for the opposite franchise in the base year is an extra $2M or nothing.

I can tell this build is going to be a pain in the arse...

With respect to those currently ranked 1-4, I hope I move up from 5th just so I don't have to be anywhere near this division in the 130M Round 2 theme

Two questions about the 160M league.

1) The pre-1900 St Louis Browns are, I believe, the precursors of the current Cardinals. The post-1900 St Louis Browns are the precursors of the current Orioles. So we can have players from both St Louis Browns on the roster, right? (I'm mostly asking in case the soup rules in the Theme Center end up prohibiting this even though the rules, as I understand them, do not.)

2) When I was setting up a script to check my own teams for legality, I accidentally left on match case, so it didn't flag a team that had both deGrom, starting with 'd', and Davis, starting with 'D' on it. I assume that's actually illegal, and you don't care about case of the first letters of the last name.

1) Correct. We won't be using the soup rules in the wizard.

2) Correct. I'll be sure to check for this.

still seeking clarity regarding combined and partial seasons (same year as base team). I'll ask it again and give a concrete example to make this easier to answer:

Let's say the base team is the 1997 Oakland Athletics.

Scenario 1: The owner rosters the 1997 Combined Season of Mark McGwire that played for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Does the owner receive a $2 million bonus to his or her salary cap or is this version of Mark McGwire considered a player who played for the base team?

Scenario 2: The owner rosters the 1997 Partial Season Mark McGwire that only played for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Same question as above.

They are considered part of the base team. I'm just using the franchise that they show up as in WIS. So, for a combined season player, you have the option for them to be base team player or a different franchise player.
