still seeking clarity regarding combined and partial seasons (same year as base team). I'll ask it again and give a concrete example to make this easier to answer:

Let's say the base team is the 1997 Oakland Athletics.

Scenario 1: The owner rosters the 1997 Combined Season of Mark McGwire that played for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Does the owner receive a $2 million bonus to his or her salary cap or is this version of Mark McGwire considered a player who played for the base team?

Scenario 2: The owner rosters the 1997 Partial Season Mark McGwire that only played for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Same question as above.
They are considered part of the base team. I'm just using the franchise that they show up as in WIS. So, for a combined season player, you have the option for them to be base team player or a different franchise player.
I don't understand this answer. The two parts of the answer seem to contradict each other. They are part of the base team seems to indicate no $2M bonus. But then you say you are using the franchise that they show up as in WIS, so twisting to a different franchise would be +2M?

Please, just tell us if we get the $2M bonus in either scenario.

My exact thoughts...

I think you get the $2M bonus if your base team is '97 A's & you use '97 Cardinals McGwire, but the answer definitely contradicted itself.

I haven't started this theme yet, the $160M was excruciating.... I have 1 team complete, but I'm working on a 2nd team bc I have a few useless players on my original version

Partial St Louis: yes to the bonus

Combined St Louis: yes to bonus

Partial Oakland: no bonus

Combined Oakland: no bonus

am I correct?

d_rock97 is correct. LMK if anything is unclear? I don't think the above answer is contradictory

Regarding the Schoolyard Pick theme...

Which owner starts the draft, the #1 ranked owner or the #2 ranked owner?

Also, which captain is in the AL and which one is in the NL?

The other thing is, you might want to start getting confirmations for participation in round 2 so that the first phase of this theme can get going fairly quickly (all playoff spots except pennquaker/nebhusker are confirmed).

Have deadlines for round 2 been set?

It will be random.

#1 NL #2 AL

Slightly updating my last answer. Rather than the first pick being decided at random, I've asked justinlee_24 and 06gsp to play one game of Rock + Paper + Scissors to determine who will pick first.

Ah yes. Always remember the old adage: "Rock to win, baby!"

Bart Simpson... "Good ol' rock. Nothing beats that."
