Yeah, they were the best picks. The appearance of a copy is partly a coincidence, partly my influence on team building here for the past ... oh ... 13 years. Taking no credit from kinoa from season one, but those teams he built just screamed classic Ash teams... with not quite as much rebounding. My teams would crush his on the boards.

Please stop. I've gone out of my way several times throughout the years to commend you on your team building posts. I'm appreciative. But there's a limit. This constant, passive-aggressive taking credit for my team was at first annoying, but now is just ******* me off. And I don't get ****** easily. Your team building posts helped me get over the first hump … 8 years ago. Since then the team building strategy I use is mine. Period. So please. Stop patting yourself on the back and let it go. It's beneath you.

Thanks, man. It's a tough league, there are no bad owners, just some unlucky draft choices. While there are teams we can all tell have higher potential than most, lineups/divisions go a ways toward final scores. I know I'm not anything close to upper-tier in draft leagues, pretty good in progs, just have to curb my tendency to draft with a narrative. 2 years in, I'm still learning. And for not being good at drafts/being decent in progs and game adjustments, this is a great middle ground with a lot of great owners. Fun learning experience.

I apologize for implying that I was taking any credit for your team or your success. Just to be clear, taking credit for any of your success would be absurd. The quoted comment was meant to reflect that you built a team similar to how I would have normally built a team when I was in the competitive circuit, and now that I'm getting back in that mix, similarities are likely to occur. Go back to the commentary from the first draft, and I really sang the praises of many of your picks - I didn't do that because I didn't like the players. It in no way was meant to imply that I take any credit for you putting it together, though I certainly see that it did, and that's my fault for how poorly I worded that; in a previous comment I mentioned that I did study your squad (as well as dbkc's, ben's, pex's, etc) as I always do when playing the competitive circuit. I did make a joke earlier about how I considered your first place finish my accomplishment, but I realize that was in poor taste. I was not serious about that, but I can see that it certainly sounds that way. I apologize for that as well.

It is getting old with people saying I copied you, so I guess I am talking about it a lot. Like, **** off (to those people who seriously think that). If I was going to copy him, I wouldn't have traded Shaq. I think Howard's better (in this format), so I wanted to build a team around him. Just so happens that some of the pieces fell in the same way. Had mikee not taken Glove one slot ahead of me, I'm not sure that we end up anywhere close to the same squad.

In conclusion, sorry man. I was wrong. You're absolutely one of the best owners on this site... and have been for a long time. You might be the best. You're certainly currently better than me. I take no credit for you being as good as you are now or ever.

Thanks for the top 5 placement dh. My team is super efficient, clean on turnovers and fouls except Tree and can defend for the most part, but I usually cram a lot more rebounds in than this and that has me really nervous.

Dang I’ll be honest, I forgot about your team when making my top 10 (that happens when you do it in under a minute) - you should definitely be in the top 8 or higher.

Stats stats and more stats

A lot of the coaches on this site talk a hell of a lot about STATISTICS –
Shoot, we already up to page 83 and the dang season hasn’t even tipped off yet.

Well, I don’t know about the rest of you – but our ball club doesn’t pay much attention to statistics.
Our managers and water boys carry our clipboards – full of statistics –
but we don’t bother with them….Unless we’re missing free throws…. then we practice free throws
The only numbers we care about are the ones up on the score board.

You knuckleheads are wasting your damn time with all those numbers –
If numbers mattered,
then the dang players would have been required to take a math class.

I hear WHO has Creb%?? WHO is going to help you reach an assists tier??…
Usage this USAGE that - Which player has a better EFG% -
the only thing matters is if the damn ball goes in the damn hoop ,
then it was EFFECTIVE…it is just THAT simple

All WE care about is if the dang guy can play ball.
CAN HE PLAY? Yes or No – its that simple.
If we don’t think he can play and help our ball club – then we don’t pick him –

We scout ‘em – and watch a lot of film – on ALL the players –
We put time in the film room. And to be honest THAT is our key to success.
