Yeah, they were the best picks. The appearance of a copy is partly a coincidence, partly my influence on team building here for the past ... oh ... 13 years. Taking no credit from kinoa from season one, but those teams he built just screamed classic Ash teams... with not quite as much rebounding. My teams would crush his on the boards.

Please stop. I've gone out of my way several times throughout the years to commend you on your team building posts. I'm appreciative. But there's a limit. This constant, passive-aggressive taking credit for my team was at first annoying, but now is just ******* me off. And I don't get ****** easily. Your team building posts helped me get over the first hump … 8 years ago. Since then the team building strategy I use is mine. Period. So please. Stop patting yourself of the back and let it go. It's beneath you.

I apologize for implying that I was taking any credit for your team or your success. Just to be clear, taking credit for any of your success would be absurd. The quoted comment was meant to reflect that you built a team similar to how I would have normally built a team when I was in the competitive circuit, and now that I'm getting back in that mix, similarities are likely to occur. Go back to the commentary from the first draft, and I really sang the praises of many of your picks - I didn't do that because I didn't like the players. It in no way was meant to imply that I take any credit for you putting it together, though I certainly see that it did, and that's my fault for how poorly I worded that; in a previous comment I mentioned that I did study your squad (as well as dbkc's, ben's, pex's, etc) as I always do when playing the competitive circuit. I did make a joke earlier about how I considered your first place finish my accomplishment, but I realize that was in poor taste. I was not serious about that, but I can see that it certainly sounds that way. I apologize for that as well.

It is getting old with people saying I copied you, so I guess I am talking about it a lot. Like, **** off (to those people who seriously think that). If I was going to copy him, I wouldn't have traded Shaq. I think Howard's better (in this format), so I wanted to build a team around him. Just so happens that some of the pieces fell in the same way. Had mikee not taken Glove one slot ahead of me, I'm not sure that we end up anywhere close to the same squad.

In conclusion, sorry man. I was wrong. You're absolutely one of the best owners on this site... and have been for a long time. You might be the best. You're certainly currently better than me. I take no credit for you being as good as you are now or ever.

The few evals I did last night were a bunch of incoherent ramblings about how I would have built your teams better than you did. It was pretty terrible and I trashed them. Sim Gods would have punished me severely.

I did rank the teams though...


1. benhoidal - Took a risk in ignoring the backcourt with the first three picks, but it paid off when he was able to get Deron and Danny Green.

2. dbkc - Really nice job of covering ast% on the two teams without Simmons.

4. pexetera - Pex getting Marshall and Butler in the 4th/5th was bad for the league.

5. mptrey - Ho Grant.

6. 24kpyrite - He's got an amazing team around him. Can Lillard produce?

7. pharrop - It's easy to forget how awesome those SF seasons are from Giannis.

8. dh555 - If sim-matchup testing is to be believed(?), my team is a lot tougher than I thought.

9. tarheel1991 - The king of clean does it again!

10. robusk - Getting Porter and Sammy when you did was clutch. Very similar to my own team. I have better defense but you have Durant.

11. gerryred - I loved that you grabbed Price and Lowry when you did. Brand keeps this team from contending tho.

12. jhsukow - No idea what to make of this team so #12 felt right haha.

13. jcred5 - Defense is looking scary but I don't think Dr. J can carry the offense.

14. jpevans31 - Too much pressure on Klay. I think he struggles again.

15. cmcafeeky - Very similar to dbkc's team that finished 2nd, but I don't see a Zo on this team.

16. bds9992 - Cheeks? HATE! HATE! HATE!

17. mikee1 - I think Silas is overrated in this league.

18. longtallbrad - Some really nice pieces but I don't really like how it all fits together.

19. ysw128 - Don't know how important it actually will be but playing 96% or 97% McHale at SF bugs me.

20. amerk1180 - Where is 89-90 D-Rob? Gotta use that one.

21. goetz93 - 96-97 Mason should have been paired up with a SF Barkley.

22. 20ks - Where are the role players? Paul George should be playing the 2, not the 3.

23. dskantor - I'm shocked you didn't use any of the 3 MVP Kareem's from Savage 1. Makes no sense to me.

24. albiband0 - I thought not pairing Camby with Towns in round 3 was a huge mistake. I think you struggle on defense and on the glass.

Man - my assessment could be way off. I didn't go deep, but some teams I really liked - many teams had a flaw or two and a few do not look so good. Did mine in tiers with a rough average of wins. Really more for grouping.

I think LTB's team is loaded. I love almost all of it. DeAndre and Duncan are great, billups and bledsoe. great fill with Horford, Maxwell, Yao, JR and even McDyess has a couple of nice seasons. I think this is a great team.

Ben's team is great. I mentioned Gilmore and the love there. With Davis is so nice. Jones and Deron are good and I think he did enough after that, including the nice John Collins snag.

24's team is fantastic. Shaq is a favorite in this format and Whiteside so nice beside or behind him. Draymond allows for guys like Dumars who are value and Lillard, don't want to get over excited about the 2020 season but it's pretty damn nice. Great fill too including Valanciunas, Cooper, Allen, James Johnson. Even Holmes and Dedmon.

And Gerry's team. I didn't check the versions of Wilt, but he covers a lot of holes. I don't love the PF he put with him, but they should be good enough and if he can run Brand at SF for a few seasons with Tarpley or Dampier - with Price and Lowry, that's a nice team.

The only other top tier team i had was dskantor. Picking at the top and getting a guy like Kareen helps and I love that Amare and Nance front court. Perfect balance. Wallace, Biyombo, Henson and Eddie jones all fit nice. A few questions like Nater and Lever, but I think he does well.

I'll tell you one thing: looking at these teams, it is obvious I care way more about threes than almost all of you.

A promising 2-3 start!

I care about this stuff too much. I started looking at my teams this morning and started 0-2 averaging ~ 97 ppg and I started believing the lack of offense/Dr J can't lead a team comments. I was ready to give up and start prepping for savage 3. Finished 3-2, I'm sure it will be fine.

World 2 me vs 24k today is going to be insane.
