Does anyone know if RF impact is linear, or more a normal curve?

By that I mean, if I draft an OF with a 2.60 RF, is the difference in his effective the same between the 2.60 and a 2.20, as the the difference between a 3.00 and the 2.60? Or do you get diminishing returns the higher you go?

If it is like a normal curve I'd be curious what the midpoints and standard deviations are for each position.

RF itself is linear. However, how WIS applies it to +/- plays may not be. I believe it is as well, but there’s so many factors that contribute its hard to isolate the minor differences between the RF, park effects, or distribution of pitching talent/era.

I am so old, when I clicked on this I assumed RF stood for RF, and I thought, "This must be interesting, what kind of question would someone have regarding Right Field?". I think my thinking about this was right out of Left field.
