well, kinoa did the same thing last season as well. fatigued his starters so much against me that he tanked the first game of the next series to get his starters fatigue more manageable again. and Kinoa almost never tanks a game. only he didn't win the first game he tanked in the following series. I've never seen anyone win a game they were tanking.
This is an interesting subject for me. In open leagues, tanking is almost a given. With $42 million, 3 scrubs and a crapshoot rookie draft, you're virtually guaranteed having your top 9 fatigued, even playing them a reasonable amount over real life. I do it and have no problem with others doing it when that's the case. It basically comes down to tanking out of necessity versus tanking by design. I tank solely out of necessity, so when owners play Giannis or Curry 48 minutes for a few games, tank, then rinse and repeat, I have a problem with that. Big problem. And the truth is the sim does a horrible job penalizing this practice so owners have no fear doing it over and over again.
I remember the series you brought up. I actually played all of my starters around 110-115% of their real life, which I was ok with. The exception to that was Bobby Jones, who I played 48 minutes for 3 games when he was good for 32. It worked, but considering I take issue with that practice, I didn't feel good about it. At all. Although I won that series, Karma got me and I was swept in the finals. I doubt I ever do that again.
