world wide leader checks in.

I like defensive beasts so much that I usually fall into the same hole in draft leagues: subpar offense. Looks like I'm doing it again. That's why I would've preferred Nance or Buck to Bobby, but really I'm happy that any of those 3 were available. I could still suck this season, but hopefully my defense gets me above 23rd-place.

I was definitely surprised to see him there. I'm not convinced he's a great fit on my team, and 20ks didn't do very well with Hakeem/Oscar last year. Hoping by getting him a round later with Gobert already on board I can give it a better run.

I kinda like the trio so far. Oscar is the Buck of PGs. You don't want him as your best player but he's ridiculously consistent across multiple seasons and he brings a lot of pluses. What he doesn't bring is a ton of 3s, but Hakeem as the high usage guy doesn't spend most of his time in the paint so you don't to invest heavily in spacing the floor.

Billups was the "safer" pick I was tempted to make over Oscar. Very clean, more threes, more assists. But Oscar gave me more minutes, more boards, and better flexibility with respect to the guys I expect to be there at my next pick.

How high would Bill Russell be drafted if his 5 best seasons were all 100 D like they should be? ??

1st round. Early 2nd at the latest.

Oscar and Hakeem were awesome for me. I blew that draft in the 4th and 5th round. With Gobert and a better drafting ability than I have, you should be in good shape.

@jcred5- It was you and me both getting in each other's way last season.

Huh. I'm not sure. With that efg%, would you take him over Big Ben?

Absolutely. Ben has 3 seasons of 100d, and one of them is 42% fg%. Ben only has one season of over 40% crb. Russ has more than 5. Russ always gives you dimes.

Oh, and 3400+ minutes. Maybe Jordan & Gobert still go ahead, but that's probably the only board lords you consider over that package. 5x 100 D? There's only one other player that gives you that, and he's a wing.

I short-changed myself for 2 seasons by taking Whiteside over Gobert, but looking at the stats I'm digging the Pip/Hassan/Bobby J trio. There are still plenty of picks for me to screwup, but I'm a little optimistic.

i am filled with regret...i finished top 5 by making ballsy picks when the opportunity presented itself...i had the opportunity to do it again here in the 2nd and i went with the safe boring pick ugh

sooooo many players available in the 3rd i would have loved to pair with oscar/mailman...including blaylock

congrats tarheel...thats quite a gift in the 3rd

i do kinda get the slide tho...thats a lot of turnovers and average shooting to commit

I love Buck Williams here. Every time we draft I think I can get him in the third and I never do.
He was drafted absurdly late last draft. Brings you fantastic efg% at tier 4 usage. Good defense. Good boards. I think I like him much better than Kemp when paired with a high usage guard like Steph in the first. Shame I didn't get him.
And he has multiple seasons that are virtually identical. He's the quintessential Savage role player. You don't want him as your best player, but he shouldn't be around when you're looking for a fourth best player.
i was lucky enough to have buck as my 4th best last season...he was amazing...didnt have one bad season out of the 5...love that paint scoring!
