I wonder how many hip hop lyrics mention Ben Wallace.

Answer: a lot more than I thought. Mick Jenkins, The Game, Snoop, Dame (wait really?), Royce and more. https://genius.com/Dame-dolla-talk-to-em-lyrics

I LOVED the Watchmen show - though I suspect it was controversial, I completely understood how it evolved from the comic/movie.

I liked Rome but I haven't seen it quite some time. Haven't seen the others but I need to see The Wire, like, three years ago.

I liked Watchmen so much I watched it twice. It absolutely made my skin crawl at times...pretty bracing stuff. But I've been a fan of the original graphic novel since the late '80s and I thought the series did it justice.

Couple of shows/movies that have worked for me recently.
  • Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Frances McDormand's performance really carries everything here. The commitment to the tone of the movie really sets it apart as part of a conversation on grief.
  • Clone High. I'm sad I didn't know about this until a few weeks ago. What an awesome concept, and I hear it's set for a revival soon.
  • All The Smoke. As basketball podcasts go, probably the gold standard in terms of athletes having a platform combined with unapologetic, unyielding social commentary. Shout out to [undrafted] and [undrafted] for their work.
  • The J.J. Redick Podcast. I really liked some of the interviews from them lately, including from Damian Lillard and [undrafted]. I went to high school with Tommy Alter so it's pretty cool to see him doing so well.
  • Dark. I love time loop shows with alternate universes and timelines. It's like Stranger Things, but for my money it's way better.
And, yeah, it seems like a lot of shows stopped filming due to COVID. I was looking forward to seeing how The Blacklist and Billions finished up their seasons, but.......we'll have to wait.
i really wish BoJack Horseman wasn't over but it is what it is, thanks to Raphael Bob-Waksberg for seven seasons of genius

I just watched the new Netflix show The Queen's Gambit. I thought it was very well done.

I saw Three Billboards back when cinemas were open. Flat-out incredible performances. Overall, it was too dark and nihilistic for me, but I get why it was showered with accolades.

The Jamie Foxx’s episode is very funny.

the one with Georgetown’s most famous PG is very authentic and raw.
