Sorry gents, I copied and pasted into the wrong thread lol. Yeah that is my DEAL (Draft 'Em All League) 1st round. Billy Hamilton was a STUD in the 1890's. Not the current Billy Hamilton.

I was hoping I deleted the post quick enough that no one would see it...guess not.
Ah! I might need to try some sim baseball. As a kid I was a junky with Total Baseball!
We'd love to have ya JK! Got a 4 owner long waitlist for the next one. Lemme know if you want me to put you on it. You will be guaranteed a spot in DEAL 22.

Just wanted to reply to jcred's earlier post about the baseball sim without copying the whole thing.

It's the same as the basketball sim actually, but only in reverse! In the hoops sim, you would be laughed at if you took a stud from the 50's-70's (with a few exceptions). It's ALL about the "new millenium" of basketball. Three's, rebounding big men, high eFG's.

In baseball, well, just like basketball, it's all about STATS! And the stats and numbers from many of the players of the "deadball" era are AMAZING! Not sure what "jokes" you are talking about, but let's take Hugh Duffy...dude hit .422 with like a thousand total bases and a near .600 slg %! Same for Tip O'Neill, Ty Cobb and so on. Lajoie hit .424 with nearly 60 doubles, nearly 20 triples and nearly 20 HR! Mike Trout is great, but you just can't compare his BEST season to any of those guys, or Ted Williams, Dimaggio, Musial Medwick and so on. The 60's were dominated by pitching. The 70's had few 40 HR guys. Same for the 80's, where a lot of quick teams succeeded on artificial turf fields. The 90's to today "the steroid era and juiced ball era), have provided some great seasons of both hitting and pitching, BUT none of them compare to the amazing statistical seasons of guys from 1890-1930.

Like I said...in REVERSE! Bob Pettit, Bob Cousy, George Mikan, Cliff Hagen and Maurice Stokes were AWESOME in their day! Still, you'd NEVER consider them in Savage. It's very hard to "normalize" many different eras and make everybody happy!
