Finally figured out my teams and got them in.

Anyone have any draft regrets? For me, I know Dirk was a huge “steal” in the 7th but idk man. He’s just kinda meh. I like the consistency he gives me off the bench but I’m not sure how often he’ll be better than the opposing PF, even if most of his matchups will be against bench players. Am I sleeping on him? Never used him before. His stats don’t impress me much.
Yeah I only like Dirk in progs.

My regret was Conley. I went “value” over plan and he does almost nothing I want of the bench. If he was 100% sg, different story.

I also loosely regret Boozer even with Big Ben covering his shortcomings. Keeps throwing my defensive average way down, making me sort through and try to do other things with the team and causing me to do another build. Life would have been much simpler had I gone Zo, but then I’d be poised about boards... anyway. Teams will be in tonight after another build or two.
Conley is kind of like the Dirk of PGs to be fair. Although I do like the fit of him and Curry for a couple of season pairings.

I think I saw how well mptrey did with Dirk as his starting PF/5th round pick and figured I’d be an idiot to not take him as my backup in the 7th. His low TOs is super nice though. Won’t leave any points on the table at the line either I guess. Fingers crossed.

Dirk is really good but you’ll need OReb. Horace Grant is nearly a must. Maybe Paul Silas.

Kareem/Dirk/Ho Grant is a nice front court. So is Kermit/Dirk/Horace

AC Green and Chris Andersen are pretty good ORBers, so are David Robinson (most seasons) and Gortat. I’m not too worried about that.

I just can’t seem to wrap my head around: meh eFG% + poor rebounding + bad defense = good player.

I built my teams in a way to be able to bench him if it doesn’t work. Gonna trust the process for now.

Yes! Maybe it's a classic case of how good he was IRL not being reflected in the sim.

Yes! Maybe it's a classic case of how good he was IRL not being reflected in the sim.
IRL the best ability is availability.

Could be that, but I’m hoping his low TOs, high FG/3pt%/FT%, lowish fouls, and decent passing means he’s actually good despite his shortcomings. I’m probably wrong, but I can hope.

i love that 05-06 dirk season....so incredibly clean for a pf...adds some 3s and usually gets to the line a bunch

obviously not the easiest guy to build around tho....always thought dirk/moses was a great paring...moses easily covers his oreb problem and you get an incredible advantage in the foul game with those two

im feeling slightly better about my teams now after seeing some of the other teams....my fears of finishing in the bottom 8 are completely gone...fully expect to finish in that 8-16 range

one of favorite things about savage is the opportunity the build around player seasons id never use outside of progs....im excited to see what 89-90 mailman can do...92-93 looks pretty interesting too(55% efg and 58(!)% pnt)

alright...time to start checking rosters

ill be keeping a list of what uses of player seasons surprise me and post it before the start of season....tho id be surprised if anything tops last season when dskantor didnt use 70-71 or 71-72 kareem
