Full World: Question for WIS Staff Topic

I know there has been talk about a completely full world in the past. Like maybe D1 or D2 Krzyzewski or something like that.

@Adlorenz and WIS staff, do you think it makes sense to create something like this? Maybe it is a discounted world like $5 for the first year for every coach and only coaches who have over 1 thousand wins and/or a national championship can join. And you invite all of those coaches with an invitation and discounted season. First come, first serve until the world is full.

Would love to hear others' thoughts on this, I just think this would be really cool...

I'm all for opening a new world

If current D1 worlds are not full, why would a new one be?

Several reasons.

1) the current game is not set up for the worlds to be sustainably full. Recruit gen is the biggest problem.
2)New worlds gives new opportunities. Opening a new world would create new excitement where many will 'race to the top' for the big jobs. People will want to have the first tile of the first world. etc etc
3)I believe more new worlds will be fueled by existing users. Imagine if just 200 current long time users picked up another team in this new world, you wouldn't need too many new users to make it comaprable to any existing worlds. I believe the total number of user controlled teams in HD would increase.

honestly I could go on and on. But I've always been against people who say we should remove a world and always in favor of opening a new one.

Was worried about your wellbeing when you ghosted from Colorado. Happy to see you're okay man!

Side note:
Any new World should be named after John Thompson Jr.

Jim Calhoun and his three national championships disagrees.

I sure hope not!

I think a new world should be started. It's worth the risk IMO. 3.0 needs lower populations than 2.0 for sure.

More worlds means more people can succeed which helps with new user retention.

It will also be a really good short-term boost to piggyback on the success this game has during because of COVID. I would 100% pick up a team in the new world, and I'm sure most other people would as well.

Here is how I see it :
Step 1 : Open new DI world
Step 2 : 324 anxious users apply for their jobs in hope if making it to their dream job
Step 3 : 30 users actually get their dream job
Step 4 : 1 year later the new DI world has 100 users
Step 5 : 5 years later people post on the forum for a new world to be created to generate excitement for their "new opportunities"

Don't believe me? What's the current population % of the newest two a day world?

I agree with this, that is why I think a new world would need to be a 3-a-day or 4-a-day world to make it unique.

What about condensing worlds instead of adding another? Is that a viable option?

Lol, welcome back to the real-life Big East, tecwrg ! Can't wait to have UConn back in the Garden. HD definitely needs some Big East presence.

I'm a *huge* Calhoun fan, but Thompson had a much bigger imprint and impact on the game nationally, and *made* the Big East what it is. Without Thompson, there's no Cliff Robinson, Chris Smith, Nadav Henefeld, Ray Allen, etc. If you're in your 50's like me, you remember the days of struggling with Vernon Giscombe and Karl Hobbs, and for me Billy Fields and Ricky Tucker.

Here's a compromise: the 11th world will be Thompson world... and Rupp World will be re-named for Calhoun... and future Worlds 12 thru 15 will be named after (12) Massimino, (13) Carnesecca, (14) Boeheim, and (15) Al McGuire... a (16) can be Dave Gavitt..

Also, i think a 3-a-day world could work, like the way HBD is set up.

List of Worlds, and what conferences or schools they represent:

Naismith - the founder, plus the Big-12 and Big-8 and Kansas.
Wooden - Pac-12.
Rupp - SEC.
Smith - ACC.
Allen - Kansas Big-8 again.
Iba - Big-8 again.
Crum - Metro.
Tarkanian - Big West/ UNLV/ Long Beach.
Knight - Big Ten.
Phelan - nice, a nod to Division-2.

Ok, it's time to get a freakin coach from the BIG EAST !!!
