I would argue that the economic benefits from those programs would eventually trickle up into your pockets.

Wow, what a crazy day. I'm agreeing with both bob and wylie on multiple issues. Armageddon tomorrow?

Bingo! And you're paying for someone else's irresponsible decisions. That is my biggest issue with this.

Um, the majority of the country ARE taxpayers.
um....really? Then I guess Tangplay's statement was incorrect. Thanks for pointing it out.
Huh? What was incorrect?
Two things:

1) You are a logical human being.

2) That most Americans want free ****.
Most Americans would be happy to take free stuff if it was offered to them. Do you really believe this is untrue? and there you go, trying not to offend anyone again! Good job!
I do. I believe most Americans are hard working persons that want to earn a decent wage and have quiet enjoyment in terms of living. I do not mind paying higher taxes but I do not trust our Gov't to spend the monies wisely. Just more wasteful spending. Like I said, wylie, if politicians agreed to take a 25% pay cut due to COVID-19 I would be much more receptive to their ideas of shut downs, lockdowns, etc. But when your life doesn't change from a financial perspective its easy to say shut down and then advise to print more money to pay for the shutdowns (partially).

This is what people like tangplay want. Big Gov't to just spend wastefully and then blame those like Jeff Bezos for being successful and not sharing their wealth. While I give you grief, I believe you are a lot more logical than those like tangplay and we would probably agree more than we disagree when it comes to matters such as these.
I work my *** off, but if someone comes to me and offers me a free car, I might take it. I would probably ask who is paying for the car, but most likely I would take it.
You want a big military budget, but a lot of that money is spent wastefully. I don't mind paying for a strong military, but spend the money wisely so you can get more for it.
CCCP and I had a long argument in SM where I proved that military spending creates less jobs and is worse for the economy than, for example, investing in green energy, and he got really triggered in response and never really had a comeback.
What fantasy world do you live in? I stopped responding to your idiocy. It was like arguing nuclear physics with a 3-year old. Green energy. LOL. OK AOC.

You're the dumbest person of Earth.

Example 1,347,862 of why I don't bother reading tang's posts.
They are nonsense that leads to further nonsense. Just let him sprew.
I've been waiting years to hear why a Mennonite from the middle of Kansas thinks he knows what is best for the poor, the minorities, and everyone else all around this Earth. Is it his vast travel? His extensive reading? His buying-in to what some teacher or professor told him, or watching CNN from his storm cellar? I'm sure he doesn't respond because it's embarrassing, but if he ever does, somebody please let me know so I can check it out.

You asked for a source from businesspeople to make my point; I linked you a study from a council of business clearly backing up my claim, and at that point you turned your brain off.

I can link it again if anyone is interested. This issue doesn't even appear to be contested. Green energy is a wayyyy better investment than the military at this point in time.

Bullshit. Quote Mark Cuban, Bezos, Dimon and their ilk and show that they support the green new deal. LOL.

Quote our best and brightest business leaders. Then again you just want to tax them more. Oracle moving from Cali to Texas. Wonder why that is? Hmmmm....LOL

This can go to both all3 and CCCP - If I ever cite my own personal experience as evidence, feel free to call me out. In fact, I readily admit that I do not have a background in finance or economics. That's why I cite others. If you want to have a discussion where we talk about studies, I'm all for it.

See, the difference between CCCP and I is that I don't claim to know more than experts who have studied these issues for years and he does.

I can feel the goalpost shifting. First it's "quote experts." Then it's "quote business leaders."

Now it's "I have a group of 5 people, find that they all agree with you and have written specifically on it and I might agree with you."

Lunacy.

FWIW, I'm not advocating for the green new deal. The GND isn't a policy; it's a resolution. Passing it wouldn't do anything, lol. The GND is just a framework; one that I largely agree with, but still just a framework.

not everyone who needs assistance is making irresponsible decisions. If someone is able to work but doesn't i have no interest in paying for anything for them, but if someone is working hard and doing their best, sometimes they need a helping had.
