Your worst loss ever Topic

Happy holidays everyone. Woke up, and found a surprise under my tree this morning. Lost to a SIM as a 47 point favorite. Anyone have a loss worse than that.

Lost to a Sim as a 62 point favorite one game. Only other loss was by a point on a tip-in at the buzzer to a top 5 team in non-con play. Finished the year 33-2, winning the NC. Figure that one out....

Haha. Sim had Coach K guest appearing for that game.

I don't remember the exact spread -- had to be every bit of 40 or more -- but my Oklahoma State team lost to a very bad Iowa State Sim in double OT. Might've even been at home. I still don't know what happened.

Lost to a sim that ended up to be 2-25 with sub 45 average ath/de at home the same year I won the D1 national title and had 2 guys who were top 10 picks (as well as a 92 ath 100 spd 100 de 70 lp 95 bh 92 pa 84 sta pg). I think I was abuot a 70 point favorite. Average about 1 home loss per season in my time at Illinois.

I lost in the first round of the NT as the #1 overall seed against a 16 seed SIM. I actually almost quit the game. It took me a couple of seasons before I started putting in much effort.

i've lost twice as the #1 overall seed in the 1st round, whatever consolation that is worth! one time i was sort of half retired but i was trying to get back into it and the other time i was fully invested in the effort, a friend offered me a free-roll on d1 recruiting basically (he had a team he was about to leave and i'd expressed some interest in maybe trying 3.0 recruiting some day), and i was like... welllllll, maybe, but only because this team you are about to throw away is way better than you are thinking - here, i'll prove it! so yeah, obviously that went completely according to plan :)

just goes to show, the bad rolls and crazy upset losses can happen to anyone!

I lost to Dickinson first round as the 1 seed in the 1-16 matchup. I had just won 3 NT’s in a row and won the year after too. Had a legit shot at 5 straight but totally bombed.

I’ll never get over it.

Might be the worst RNG I've ever seen, wow.

I know it was a long time ago, but in Season 3, my defending national championship team in Naismith I was unfairly seeded as a 2 seed. I was undefeated and had the #3 RPI going into the tournament and then lost to the 15 seed. We didn't have much game planning options available to us. We couldn't set offense distribution, but my team was so balanced that it didn't matter. My entire 9 man rotation consisted of possibly the best players at each position in D3.

If anyone else was playing then, you probably remember my team and how I found a loophole in recruiting and was recruiting players far better than anyone else could. It was the equivalent of D3 human controlled teams vs D3 Sim AI teams now. I didn't just lose, I lost big. I will never get over that loss because I should have marched through the tournament. My team had been winning by an average of 50 points. I still think to this day that WIS rigged the game so that my team would lose to keep the competitive balance of the game.

Not as bad as some but last night my 25-1 Seattle team in Smith lost as a 41 point favorite to a 10-17 Sim team in the CT. Went from a potential 2 seed in the tourney to maybe being able to hang on to a 4.

FWIW, I've also been on both ends of the 1-16 upset. It sucks when you're the 1 and truthfully, felt a little dirty to me when I was the 16.

Certainly not "my worst loss ever", but this is how last night's game against my biggest conference rival ended (pretty high up on the list of frustrating losses):
00:01 N. Colorado Walter Nelson can't throw it down 66-67
00:00 N. Colorado Paul McCutchen snags the offensive board 66-67

This happened a long time ago, but my PLU team lost back-to-back games at the buzzer on shots beyond half court. That was a fun read.
