Well, we each have 12 teams which is 3 per league... Would be pretty hard to avoid each other. I just checked, I think you are in the same division as me only one time per league (so far). It's almost like you are avoiding me.

I have four teams (one in each league). My divisional placement strategy is simple. Avoid schwarze ! I managed this in 3 of the 4 leagues, so I am pretty happy about that.

Note to self... try to get all my (later drafted) teams into divisions with loyalcanuck

Seriously, I really like the picking your own division rule and hope that doesn't change. There is definitely a bit of strategy if you are in the second half of the draft. I know some try to avoid certain owners. Personally, with my later picks, I am looking to play in a division (or league) with teams I think my team matches up well against.

For example, my third league team in League #1 is 1911-1913, which is a decent team but not as good as the other teams from the mid 1910's, so I purposely avoided the A.L., because that's where most of those teams ended up.

Of course, that being said, I didn't do a very good job picking divisions last round. With the 13th pick in league 2, My Red Sox 0's team ended up in a division where the top three teams had 96, 95 & 89 wins. A late surge by my Red Sox got them into the playoffs.

And in league 5 where I had 15th pick, my Pirates 3's chose a division where the four teams had win totals of 93, 91, 87 & 86 wins. I had the 87 wins.

The 89 and 87 wins by those two 3rd place teams ranked 1st and 2nd for most wins by a third place team in a division. Hard to pick worse than that.
