I've flipped flopped a million times, recent picks have completely messed up my original planse and there are a lot of bigger names that I can take, but I'm going to settle on:

Joe Morgan
Mike Schmidt

So a late rush into that era 60s-90s.

Interesting how a draft format produces strange outcomes. Think of the names not taken in the first round. Must be some very happy people down at the 1900-1920 range.

I almost went there with something like Mathewson/Brown. I almost joined the late crowd with Guidry/X. And I almost did Newhouser or Cooper targeting the 30s-50s.

Yeah I'm very surprised that at least one more person didn't go dead ball era.

Please keep in mind that (from the rules on Page 1)

Alignment will be based on first year used in your eventual series of years (will be randomized within that category if more than 4 teams use the same beginning year (1885 the most likely)

So if you have buyer's remorse, as I do, at least those teams in perceivably richer talent-laden eras will be beating each other up for playoff spots.

I think you made a great pick, Calhoop. I was planning to go modern and changed it up based on several of those selections.

This is the results of a bar chart I created. Based it off using the best season of the first round picks. Except at the ends, most have a 50-year period to start, so these numbers will shrink as picks come in that are 20+ years away from their first pick.

It's about the distribution I thought it would be. I also rounded, so this is not perfect. Like if someone had 1916-1966, They would only go up to 1965, not 1970.

4 of the 6 that have 1885 do not have 50 years to choose from.
3 of the 6 that have 2020 do not have 50 years to choose from.

It will be interesting see how the final 25 years used will change these initial 50 year ranges.

Is it ok to skip a person if my pick will not affect the person you are skipping? Or is that going to be too confusing?

Not yet. Maybe a little later as things progress.

I'm overwhelmed with who to pick next since I'm mostly entirely in the clear on this side of the draft now.

Had I picked last, the two guys I would've taken ARE STILL AVAILABLE!
