I would think this version will easily set the record for "wasted" salary. Gonna be some ugly pitching staffs for sure.

Yes - but at least we have $20 million more to waste than last version. And somebody once said... "It's not wasted salary if you use the <overpriced crappy> player". Speaking of using overpriced crappy players, I was one of the last people to draft him, but my Mark Buehrle is 2-3 with a 5.28 ERA - way better than anticipated.
