When I was growing up in New York in the 1970s, the term, "Bad Mets Teams," was an exercise in redundancy.

I don't think anyone mistook my early 70s Padres for the Big Red Machine either ...

Darny10, I Don’t know how much pitching will be available when the draft rolls back to you (or me for that matter), but Carlton may fill his real life role as your only viable starter. Fortunately there’s probably none better than him in the draft.

Plus, in what probably amounts to be a $70M theme, Carlton could get 60 starts and throw 400 innings. So it's basically like getting two stud SP's. And if he's lucky enough to sneak into the playoffs, Carlton will pitch 3 times in a best of 5 and maybe even 4 times in a best of 7. I was taking 72 Phillies with my third team, if it got to me.

I was really hoping 1914 Reds would slide to me. Nice pick. Instead we'll go with a Reds team with a stud SP (relatively speaking)...
