at first I had wisconsin... then in researching the Badgers, Ive changed my pick to NC....
Wisconsin should be accustomed to strong interior teams like NC (big ten exp)...
But I think NC will be too fast adn too much inside for them...

Nut a huge fan of the matchup. Wisconsin is a lot like UVA in terms of style - slow pace, don't turn the ball over, don't try for offensive rebounds to get back on D and pack that lane - and we've lost to UVA like 7 straight times. It's kryptonite to our offense predicated on transition and the secondary break; we suck in the halfcourt because our guards are freshmen and not that good yet.

That said, I don't think they have the quick guards that tend to give us trouble on D. If we can stay at home on shooters and avoid giving up a bunch of open looks, I think they'll struggle to score against us. If neither team can score effectively in the half court, hopefully we can win the game by wearing them down on the offensive glass.

And leaving all that aside, we're a really inconsistent team, so it's hard to know how we'll play in any given game. I would not bet on either team, frankly, for that reason alone. So basically I'm saying it's a coin flip, like most 8/9 games, lol.

I knew there would be a run on low usage backup bigs but I didn’t want to believe it.

I like Bellamy but I’m still questioning it. Starting to feel another middle of the pack finish coming

Ive always admired Heels strategy of pushing the ball up - and forcing defense to get back or else -
'run it up their tail pipe'
the secondary break...

It seems to buy them 6 to 8 points a game minimum... many more vs a lazy or undisciplined team....
If the other teams bigs dont get back, or there is a break down in assignements from anyone on the team: its easy buckets...
it puts constant pressure to stay alert and hustle onto the opposing team...

wish Kentucky would do the same thing it a genius and simple little strategy that no one else adheres to.

Part of the reason I stuck around at 14 was to be near the middle and get to draft every day. That hasn’t worked out so well. I get two picks in one day and then wait two days for the next... that’s like a turn schedule.

ps not complaining, just pointing out how weird it is that one side of the draft moves literally twice as fast as the other.
