I yield to smokey on this one about the $11.5 mill single player cap. Although I like the 1st pick to really mean something and be important, I guess I don't want it to be an automatic ticket to the playoff semi-finals. Next time, we will go back to the $12 mill cap on Wilt, because I DO like to see the choice of the #1 pick owner on WHICH Wilt he likes best. This time though, we'll go with the lower one.

Can't say I agree with this decision, although it isn't a game breaker. The original post stated $12 million so I think it should stand. I wasn't even going to use the '67 season Smokey brought up but there are a couple of seasons between the $11.5 and $12 million after the change. Just think when something is posted it should stand. However like I said it's ok and after all amerk changed it and he is the commish.
If you're not using the '67' Wilt, I will go a long with the $12m limit set by amerk originally. So go ahead and use the $12m cap Husker. I know how much you love the early era leagues and don't wish to lessen your enjoyment at getting a shot at using Wilt Chamberlain in a 50/60's league. Once when I was in a prog and got 1st pick. I wasn't paying much attention as I was go into my last 2 seasons of a really decent team that I really liked with Artis Gilmore, Larry Smith, Bobby Jones, I forget the backcourt maybe Maravich or Ainge but. I just needed decent pointed guard and the team would be good for making a run at the ship. A few of my key players were all returning from off seasons. So I'm surprised that I won the lottery being as 3 or 4 teams were below me. What great bunch pg there were, but with 1st I decided to have a look at all the available players I couldn't believe some of the players there. Then I realized what everyone else already knew and were wondering what the hold up was it was the Jordan draft that easily was 6 hof deep..
I took MJ who made a decent pg. That was the good news but my team was built to last only 2 more season MJ's rookie season and the season he took off. The team kick butt and made the finals in spite of the rookie MJ. Who doesn't really become his Airness for a few seasons down the road. Started the finals with home court advantage and went 0-2 and was headed to my opponents house for the next 3 games...I thought I'm screwed. But I looked at the first 2 game and realize we were giving it away in foul shots and TO's. Well I'm toast if I can't stop giving it away. So I went from uptempo/half to half/half and tore my opponent up by 18pts..stayed at half/half for game 4 winning by like 5 pts we were tied at 2-2 the damn sim was normalizing very fast. Decided to stay at half/half one more game we won by 2pts..mj foul shots with zero time on the clock. The sim had normalized the series at 3 to 2 my lead. Now time for something else the half/ half was done. Went back to up/half and hoped for the best..even if we foul our way to an L we still have gm 7. We won game 6 and the ship. Larry Smith was p.o.g. in game 6 to win it all. Gilmore was pog on gm3...mj fouled out and MJ was pog in gms 4 & 5. We won that season with a foul prone rookie that had a 47fg% and foul out twice in the finals the rest of the team covered for MJ..Bobby Jones doesn't foul..Artis Gilmore was a consistant 20pts..and Larry Smith played like a hof super star. All I needed was decent a pg and Jordan was a decent pg in spite of missed shots, fouls outs and to's...he gave the team ast, def and made his foul shots. The 2 foul shots to win gm5 were key clutch shots. MVP for the finals would either be Gilmore or Smith most likely Smith controlling the offensive glass and scoring 20+pts per gm in the finials. Try winning a ship with the rookie Jordan..bring serious help. But it was fun..go have some fun husker. I hope Bellamy and company will be waiting on you.
