Jobs Process is Broken Topic

After reading Numerous complaints in the Forums, I decided to see it AN ERROR did exist. I applied for a job that stated clearly "Not Qualified" and a Reputation equal or better then mine, and in a Big Six Conference. Job Process does have an error, because much to my surprise I am no longer Coaching at Concord (Allen) and have a Gig in the ACC at a B+ VT. I should have clearly been rejected with my Resume, and the "Not Qualified Status". However my experiment was at the Cost of my favorite school. I have asked CS to 1) restore me to Concord in Allen, and 2) Fix This Error! Should have picked something different to fix yesterday, instead of a Job flaw.

I hear that VT has a pretty good 401(k) plan. You sure you want to leave?

CS has jumped on my request and restored me to Concord. It took them less then 3 hours to correct the team part. Thank you HD CS.

Based on those forum complaints you mentioned, I don’t think you should’ve been so surprised/upset that you got that job.

I just had to see for myself.

Yeah man, if no one else applies, you get the job. It really doesn't matter if your agent says that you're qualified or not. The devs have stated that they are fixing the clarity issue surrounding that.

Now if your problem is that you think high level D1 jobs are too easy to get now... well come jump on the bandwagon.

I applied for USC and Texas in two different worlds, and got outright rejected in both worlds. Each was after only one season at D2.

Neither of the jobs were filled in the same cycle I was rejected (I think), but both were filled by more experienced coaches later.

I assume that other coaches had applied when I applied, but I don't know if I would've gotten the jobs if I had been the only applicant or if one season at D2 is too little to get higher-caliber D1 jobs. IOW, I don't know if the rejections were based on my lack of experience or because other applicants had more experience.

I have gotten straight rejected for jobs as well without anyone else getting them.

if you are instantly rejected (next 3 hour cycle 2/5/8/11), it always meant you would not get the job regardless of who else applied etc. (well, this is absolutely true if the job goes unfilled - if the job gets filled maybe it could mean you lost).

if you aren't immediately rejected, it has always meant that you will get the job if nobody beats you - effectively that you qualify.

i assume the above is all still true and thus that you would not have gotten the job if nobody else applied.

Thanks gill, that was my assumption also because both rejection messages were of the "we're rejecting you" flavor rather than the "we're going with someone else" flavor. And, yes, both rejections were first cycle after I applied.

Well, something was certainly "fixed" in the jobs process, as I am now listed as qualified for everything, and nothing is a step backwards (not even a DII or DIII job). As of the 2AM cycle, I was (rightly) not qualified for higher prestige jobs, and the only thing I could get were lateral or backward moves.

And a DIIi coach just got promoted to a DI A prestige power 6 school.

It now says that I am qualified for all jobs also. I applied for a D1 job where the school is currently Sim coached and I got an error message stating I applied for a job that is already taken. Nothing in the News section about a coach taking that job which has been Sim coached for the last two seasons. Maybe there is a human coach named Sim lol.

I think you’re referring to tdiddy at USC - his resume is lengthy, including Kansas at one time for example. So he might’ve been qualified anyway but he’s certainly paid his dues regardless.
