Nice to see Frazier getting some love in this league. In recent years he's usually been drafted later than I think is warranted, whether due to recency bias or a need for for perimeter shooting at that position.

Also nice to see drafting strategies start to emerge. 24 is making a play for smothering D. I know dh has won a title in this league with that approach. I've tried and fallen short.

He could have taken Hakeem instead of Timmy and had Class Valedictorian locked down.

Of course, he might be using the 100 defense Duncan.

I must say, this has been an extremely frustrating position to draft in. I rarely complain about wait times, particularly on a weekend, but ****, man. There's absolutely no point in me proxying, either, because there's going to be a huge wait for the draft to continue either way. Besides, I'm still deciding between two guys.

First draft league for me - from the above comment, I am assuming drafts are not this typically slow.

Most draft leagues I've been in finish well before we ever hit the "on the clock" portion of the draft. There are a couple of people who have a reputation of holding things up, but this has been one of the most extremely slow drafts I've seen on this site in a decade. I haven't checked yet, but I am pretty sure we got through 12 rounds of Savage quicker than we'll have gotten through four rounds of this. And Savage is intense.

As I said in an earlier post, the draft never moves as fast as one/many would like.

Season 71 we started on 12/29 and pick 79 was made on 1/6 or day 9.

This draft started on 4/8 and pick 79 was made today 4/17 or day 10. We did have to replace a GM last Saturday and that slowed it down. My fault on that. This draft has had slowdowns for sure. I participated in 2 Savage drafts and I am sure I can find posts from GM's complaining about the pace of those drafts..

Any constructive feedback is appreciated. Send me a sitemail.

Check the draft board and times everyone. Send me a proxy I should be around through the end of the draft.

I’m 100% not complaining about the job you’ve done, pharrop. I’m not even complaining about the pace. Just real eager to make the last two picks and had to wait.

If starting 5's "eye test" had a ranking, I'd put my five against any team in the league!

C Hakeem (Noah)
PF Noah (Hakeem)
SF Kirilenko (George)
SG George (Kirilenko)
PG Lebron

ALL FIVE 90 or more D, and I think Lebron, George and Hakeem should give me enough offense at a good eFG. The only question between domination and a top 4 bye or a .500 team is "Will I get enough talent in my remaining $9.78 mill of cap space to fill out a 12 player team???

Evaluations

It's been a busy week, but I have the day off to recover from Pfizer #2. (Hydrate and don't let that extra strength Tylenol wear off) I'm just going to start with vancem and go through everyone's top 5 picks and then circle around at the end.

Defense looks great. My big-picture concern on offense, for a Lebron build, is too much usage, not enough efficiency.

That was my take. Could be explosive on offense and smothering on defense, but with that level of combined usage I can't help but wonder if George and especially Hakeem will be taking shots that you'd rather James take.
