I don't know why I let you get away with the nationality comparison because it isn't equivalent. If you are a citizen of France, you are French. Saying France is a "French state" means nothing. Israel is an "Israeli state" but Arabs can also be Israeli. Can you see why it might be disingenuous to say "French state" and "Jewish state" are the same thing? One is a nationality, one is a heritage/religion. The answer to your question would be no, but it's a false equivalence. I just don't get why we are OK with saying "hey, we shouldn't have a white state, black state, Christian state or Arab state, but a Jewish state is perfectly fine."

Do you think your grandchildren would be justified in kicking the new family out of the house?

Regardless of whether Palestine and other Arab states were in the right or wrong (probably wrong), you still shouldn't evict Palestinians from their homes. That will always be wrong.

Because Israeli is equivalent to Jewish, it is a nationality/culture as well as religion. Ahhh....but that is not what happened. The landlord of that house said, hey there are some empty rooms and I am going to allow the grandchildren to live there. The grandchildren say, hey live here too, plenty of room for all of us. You give the finger and try to beat them up. It's OK if Israel happens to remain majority Jewish. It's not a bad thing to have a majority population. It would be bad to use immigration intentionally to maintain the majority population, or keep people out of your country just because they are not Jewish. That would be bad.

I think going off of your third sentence you might agree with me, though. If you're ok with Arabs and Jewish people sharing Israel so long as they love the country and don't discriminate against Jews, what makes you call Israel a "Jewish state?" That's my problem.

What would be the point about criticizing all of Israel's neighbors? We all agree here that they are bad. If I was in a forum where everyone agreed that Israel was bad and Arabic countries were good, I would take a more pro-Israel stance and criticize the other countries more.

You're focusing super hard on the fact that Israel won. I'm clearly more interested in the fact that Palestinians live on the land and have for generations, and Israel is kicking them out due to land claims from decades ago. That's not OK.

Much of US land was taken from Native Americans illegally. We broke treaties and laws in order to steal land from them. But even if you believe that we might be here unjustly, that doesn't give Native Americans the right to storm in and kick Americans out of their homes. Might doesn't always make right.

I don't agree with you. You need to re-read what I wrote. Israel is building its identity, it is just a toddler. How was the US in the 1700s? We were still under British rule and post the revolution it took how many years to abolish slavery? My point is to leave Israel in peace. Condemn Hamas and Fatah. Work with Israel to help the people of Palestine who are obviously victims of terror leaders. Instead we vilify Israel.

My mom is Jewish, and Jewish heritage, by law (if you know anything about Jewish law you would know this) is passed through your mother's side. My mom's mom is Jewish, and her mom is Jewish, and it goes on. Thus I am also Jewish.

And yes, I did still appreciate my Jewish heritage at 13. I can run through my entire family tree if you want. My mom converted to being a Mennonite around when she met my dad. When she became a Christian, her Jewish heritage didn't just disappear.

My point is that when people declare war on you, then you will no longer want to share land with them If I offer to share a house and you attack me with a knife. I take the knife away and KO you and when you wake up, you say, sorry lets share the house? I would laugh and tell you to get lost. Israel didn't declare war, the Arab states did. In terms of Native Americans, yes we conquered them but which tribe? Those Tribes were conquering each other for years. Sioux, Cherokee, etc. Spain did the same to Latin America.
