BIDEN: Damn Fine President Today Topic

You rooting for failure??
Yes, some are.

They're also not recognizing the basic facts of the situation; the Afghan army quitting, the president fleeing, and that the deal negotiated by Trump with the Taliban had us leaving earlier - Trump complained we left too late - and that Biden had already pushed it back. If Biden had pushed withdrawal back further or went back on the deal - you know, didn’t pull out - then there would’ve been an escalation of warfare and troops. Which I’m sure they wouldn’t have criticized him for too.

They’re really trying to have their cake (praise Trump for negotiating with the Taliban and creating this situation) and eat it too (criticize Biden for following through with Trump’s negotiations).

THIS IS FUNNY........

Now are we to believe JOE BIDEN suddenly does what TRUMP wants him too do? When did this start?

From what I can see, Biden has done THE OPPOSITE of Trump at every opportunity.

The WALL? If Biden has to follow Trumps lead, then he would have completed the wall with the funds and material left to him, but he did not. He stopped it by executive order and to this day it sits on the ground rotting.

The BORDER POLICY? Nope. Biden didn't follow Trump there either. Yet another executive order. Which is the bigger Biden blunder? The defeat and humiliation of America and our allies in Afghanistan OR the invasion of our southern border. His southern policy will kill more Americans than have died in Afghanistan BUT that could change with the terrorism Biden has invited onto our laps.

Our ENERGY POLICY? Nope. Instead of following Trump and continuing our job creation and energy independence, BIDEN signed more executive orders. He shut down XL. He reneged on our agreement with Canada. (So much for following prior agreements) He shut down drilling from Alaska to the Gulf of Mexico.

Trying to blame this on Trump is about as believable as U2 not reading or responding to my posts.

LOL
There’s a difference between policies that wouldn’t have required soldiers to go into a war zone and this. If you weren’t a disingenuous hack you’d know that.

Still no American casualties. Still evacuating thousands.

"If you weren’t a disingenuous hack you’d know that."

That's being far too generous. The dude is an *** scattering fecal matter all over these boards. He's completely full of ****. He's a LIAR and a HYPOCRITE of extraordinary proportions. He's still harping on about the stupid wall that a large majority of Americans didn't want and, in typical tone-deaf fashion, completely exonerates his hero, who didn't "close" the border either and is massively responsible for the clusterfuck now being cleaned up. All done while laying blame at those he considers "enemies" and further fellating his wanna be king.

PATHETIC

I love how he says we’re blaming Trump. No not really, just stating what the facts are. Wish he hadn’t had negotiated with the Taliban but whatever, is what it is. This was a 20 year mistake involving several presidents and I’m sorry that a lot of people seem to want it to continue.

Now we’re citing Tony Blair, I mean it couldn’t be more obvious at this point.

No casualties, evacuating thousands still. Whatever.

With every post I keep wondering just how far Uofa will go before finally having to admit Biden did something wrong.
This is actually quite sad and quite humorous at the same time. It's everybody/anybody else's fault, just not Biden's.
That claim of most influential ever looks better and better every day though, just not in a good way.

"Or now, when they try to defend the biggest and most obvious mistake in our lifetime."

Coming from the guy who constantly fellates one of the worst Presidents in American history that's pretty damn funny.

Why are we evacuating AFTER the fact? We should have had a strong military presence there to ensure a safe and effective withdrawal.

You guys can point to all the presidents since George Washington for all I care, but the bottom line is the PLANNING of this withdrawal is what's been shown to be very inept and the cause of so much backlash.

HORRENDOUS PLANNING.
That falls squarely on this administration. Period.

For all of you who voted for Trump and presumably think he could have handled the situation better - what do you think the differences would be in how Trump pulled out vs Biden?

As Uofa and I have pointed out numerous times, Biden actually delayed the withdrawal negotiated by TRUMP, which was criticized by Trump. Would the situation have gone better if we evacuated in March?

I’ve literally said he deserves some blame several times now.

Calling this the biggest and most obvious mistake in our lifetime is so ******* ridiculous as to not even deserve a response.

It’s detached from reality again. The images were pretty bad last weekend and that’s all anyone is thinking about - meanwhile the airport is secure, no American casualties, over 20k evacuated so far….yeah, they’re desperate for this to actually be a catastrophe which says a lot more about them than they realize.

Once again, since nobody else will talk about it because again it kinda hurts the narrative, they didn’t expect the president to quit and flee in the middle of the night while the army took money to quit. You can’t really account for that, unless of course you want to bring in more troops and risk escalation. Which is what you’re trying not to do.

According to Sen Tillis there are 70k that need evacuating.

As of Friday, there were an estimated 10,000 US citizens, an estimated 10,000 Afghans who have been issued a special immigrant visa (SIV), 40,000 SIV-eligible Afghans, nearly 6,000 U.S. troops, and another 1,000 U.S. personnel at the Kabul airport. That’s nearly 70,000 people to evacuate over 10 days.
5100 were moved out of Kabul by US and coalition forces in the past 24 hours. Total of over 30,000 in the past 8 days.

Also, a lot of people seem to think that the US citizens left in Afghanistan were all sent there by the government when in reality they were private citizens living in a war zone despite their government begging them to come home (and even offering to help financially) for months. You can certainly make the case that we weren't focused on getting Afghan Allies out soon enough. But the US government has been trying to get our citizens to leave repeatedly for months, even offering to pay for airfare. But you can't force private citizens to leave a country.

Trump booed at Alabama rally after telling supporters to get vaccinated

Former President Donald Trump was booed at a rally Saturday in Alabama after he told supporters they should get vaccinated.

"And you know what? I believe totally in your freedoms. I do. You've got to do what you have to do," Trump said. "But I recommend take the vaccines. I did it. It's good. Take the vaccines."

Some boos rang out from the crowd, who were largely maskless.

"No, that's OK. That's all right. You got your freedoms," Trump said, echoing rhetoric from opponents of mask and vaccination mandates. "But I happened to take the vaccine. If it doesn't work, you'll be the first to know. OK? I'll call up Alabama, I'll say, hey, you know what? But [the vaccine] is working. But you do have your freedoms you have to keep. You have to maintain that."

Covid cases and hospitalizations are surging in large parts of the South because of the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus. Cullman, where the rally was hosted, is experiencing a rise in cases that has matched its previous peak from late December. The city declared a Covid state of emergency Thursday to provide extra emergency support for the rally.

Alabama has the lowest vaccination rate in the U.S., with just more than 36 percent of its population having been fully inoculated, according to an NBC News tracker. Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, has said "the unvaccinated folks" are to blame for Covid's resurgence in the state.

Nationwide, the overwhelming majority of Covid hospitalizations and deaths are among unvaccinated people, The New York Times reported this month.

A Kaiser Family Foundation vaccination tracking poll released this month found that Republicans were the second-least-likely demographic group to be vaccinated, above only uninsured Americans under 65. While 57 percent of Republicans have received at least one dose of a vaccine or say they will get a shot as soon as possible, 40 percent say that they never will or will do so only if it's required or that they are still in wait-and-see mode. The 40 percent total is the second highest among the 23 demographic groups surveyed.

Trump has endorsed vaccination previously, but he has often matched it with similar caveats. Just last week, after he promoted the vaccines in an interview with Fox Business personality Maria Bartiromo, Trump claimed that coming booster shots were recommended by the Biden administration as "a money-making operation for Pfizer." (The Biden administration recommended booster shots for those who received Pfizer and Moderna vaccine shots.)

Pfizer, which Trump has attacked in a similar manner previously, wasn't part of his administration's Operation Warp Speed, the public-private partnership to accelerate vaccine development. Trump didn't mention Moderna, which was part of the program.
