That’s not entirely true. I called you an idiot.

This authoritarian rule is going to prove much more dangerous long-term than Covid. History has shown us that. I'm not sure it's in your best interest to be rooting for an elected dictator.
You can do better than this. You can oppose the law without using hyperbolic language like "authoritarian" and "dictator".

Unless you can explain how this law helps set up a one party state and ends American Democracy?

On elected dictator - that could be said about anyone with policies that some disagree with.
Framing issues with such pejorative and inflammatory descriptions does nothing to advance a position and really just polarizes.

We do have a checks and balances system.
I trust this Supreme Court to decide the majority of issues on even handed legal principles. I really do.

If the president is being a “dictator “ then so are school districts and mayors and pro vaccine governors.

All of this will be before the Supreme Court very soon
and it is exciting and stirring to watch the reasoning when it happens.

I did not notice but I’m sure it was used as a term of endearment.

It’s not hyperbole. It’s incrementalism. Authoritarianism doesn’t happen overnight. It happens in small steps. Dictators test the waters to see what freedoms they can strip without a public outcry. The left has been doing this for years, pushing further and further.

Pick any of the 20th century despots. Go back and look at the progression during that time in that country.

We have a legislative branch. People tend to forget that. We have had elected dictators for the past 13 years. If they can’t get Congress to do exactly what they want, they just use an EO. That’s not how our country was intended to function.

Nope. If you’re going to pretend to not know what terms POC and racism mean, I’m going to call you an idiot. Since then you’ve been fine to converse with. I unblocked you if that makes you feel any better.

I don’t know what you mean by POC
and when did I say that I don’t know what racism means.
You have come to the wrong conclusion.
Whenever I post something serious I am telling the truth as I know it.

Conservatives have been saying this about the left for decades. When, exactly, is this authoritarian state supposed to actually start? They called racial integration "communism".

And why, exactly, are you singling out the left here? I seem to remember that many freedoms were lost under Reagan, Bush, and Trump. Those presidents expanded government significantly.

But sure, today it's vaccines and tomorrow it's a single party state. I'm sure there's connective tissue there.

While Covid mandates are controversial for a minority of the population you would have to consider it a scheme to create new and bolder restrictions to consider it the beginning a political junta.

Covid mandates are meant as a temporary health and welfare regulation in a time of catastrophe.

Biden is not leading a cabal that wants to create dangerous powers.

But we will soon see what a 6-3 conservative Supreme Court will say about it because I’m sure that your view will be front and center.

You just listed a bunch of reasons why unvaccinated people are a danger to themselves, not to everyone else. If you are vaccinated, you should be back normal. You are safe. If you're not back to normal, that's your choice.
THIS IS CLEARLY NOT TRUE!!

There are many, MANY cases of vaccinated folks getting the COVID - 19 (Delta) and becoming VERY sick.
YOU are NOT safe just because you've been vaccinated.
And you CAN get the LONG COVID as well.

No, usually when you get down to the root cause it is personal choice.
You can probably guess what my next question is: why do some races seem to, on average, make worse or different personal choices? And if you answer "because of culture," I'm gonna ask why the cultures differ. When you get down to it, the only explanations are racism or some intrinsic differences.
If when other races fail to prosper it is because of racism, what's the reason when white people fail?

When the Supreme Court rules soon on the various mandates and presidential and federal mandates this could be an extremely wonderful thing because
there will be more of these pandemics because of our interrelated areas of the world.
They will return just as there are hurricanes and wildfires.
But when it happens next we might have clarity about governmental powers from the get go.

Here, let me give an example of a straight, incremental line towards authoritarianism.

1. Right now, pretty much every major election that is lost by a Republican is met with fraud. They haven't even finished voting yet in California and ALREADY Larry Elder is saying that the election is rigged. I don't see this trend reversing anytime soon.
2. During the aftermath of the 2020 election, states with Republican majority legislatures that Biden won attempted to overturn the election result in the State Congress, but were often countered by other powers in the state such as the Secretary of State.
3. Many Republican states are also stripping power from Secretaries of State and giving them to the legislature.

Therefore, in the near future we could see an election rightfully won by a Democrat but overturned by a conservative Congress. There's a direct line between current action and authoritarianism/corruption in the future.
