I had a ticket in which they the admins closed without fixing, so ill bring it in here since its been over a month with no updated like i had asked for so we will take this public to get it fixed, Arbitration.....If you do not offer Arbitration to a player what should happen in real life, in any video game or any other baseball game ever made.... They become a Free Agent... So why in this game does the computer RESIGN them to the team when i clearly do not want them???? This is a easy fix so lets get it fixed, In no way do i want the Computer doing anything for me especially signing players i dont want .......Im trying to be nice as i can but this has been ridiculous not to fix by now....

Now lets read the real world example of arbitration....
Once a player becomes eligible for salary arbitration, he is eligible each offseason (assuming he is tendered a contract) until he reaches six years of Major League service. At that point, the player becomes eligible for free agency.


I put in BOLD the important part to note, you see assuming he is tendered a contract, so if you dont he auto becomes a FA, you see how that works......And again

Should a player not have a contract for the upcoming season, and the club tender a contract, the player and club must agree on a salary number. Both parties have to agree to a number by mid-January.

So again we see, The CLUB has to Tender a contract , if i DO NOT TENDER a contract he is a FA, FIX THIS!!!

bripat's right. In real life executives are getting paid thousands to make these decisions and you can bet they're all carefully considered.

For the purposes of administrating a game, we all have to be protected from "OMG I forgot to log on yesterday." Or this week. Or this month.

You're simply missing two very big points and you seem unable to understand that.

Neglectful owners ruin teams very often. An active owner doesn't have trouble releasing players they don't want.

There are 2 choices when an owner is neglectful concerning the arb window, and a one season arb payment is far less problematic for a franchise long term than a good player getting released from a franchise. It's not even close and that's why it's actually the right call for the GAME.

If you want to look at it like real life, consider this What would happen if the GM was unable to submit for arbitration due to unforeseen circumstances (health emergency, accident). I would expect the team would have other members of the Gm office fill in. Now there could be reason why someone missed the smaller window of time to arbitrate in this game (accident, health emergency, work, natural disaster, more important family event , or just loss of internet). I wouldn’t want to punish a fake player for handling real life first So the game acts as their assistant in the office and arbitrates on their behalf. The player could have been released the prior day.

When a World rolls, one of the first things each owner should do is evaluate budgets. How much a player wants in arb is part of that process. It is one of the least broken parts of the game to have to release a player as a non-tender for all the reasons mentioned above.

HBD can't be expected to "fix" owners, like yourself, who neglect to take necessary actions in the course of managing their franchises.

The arbitration window is 20 hours. If you don't want a player and prefer to release him, that window is 44 hours. When owners, like yourself, fail to take action, simmy needs to do something. Regardless of which action simmy is programmed to take, HBD will get complaints.

The "fix" isn't to change the programming. The "fix" is to know the schedule and take appropriate management actions before relevant deadlines so simmy doesn't have to get involved at all.

One can see who is arb eligible seasons in advance-if you know you aren't gonna want them arb'ed, you can even cut them loose the prior season, use that 40 man spot for someone you desire more

Please leave Arb the way it is. It works fine.

Agreed. Please keep arbitration the way we have it now.

WIS closed the ticket because there was nothing to fix. It was human error. Play by the game's rules not what you think the game's rules should be.

You could use the time you spent whining on the forum and release the players you don’t want. That works pretty well. Just sayin.
