If Ben were a cheater, wouldn't he have taken Kareem over Dwight? I am not sure where Russell gets drafted next year, but he will be drafted too early and it will be a reach.

One other thing, Ben gets put on a pedestal in this league and his results haven't been great. Dare I say he only one due to the cheat code known as LeBron last season?

Another fair point with the Kareem point, but one could counter that he is the only manager that had his first three selections get upgrades (didn't check, so maybe I am wrong here) - must have been another coincidence. And wanting KAT over Russell doesn't mean he didn't use insider information - information he only knew about - when he made his pick. As I said before, he admitted it in his statement he used the information in deciding to pick Russell - the other changes with his 2 other players, and the other players impacted, aren't a huge deal for me.

I think it was only the first two. I thought it was all three at first too, but I believe it was incorrectly stated that Kirilenko got a defensive boost when he didn't.

I think he had as much knowledge as lots of us when he made his first pick which was "some change is coming at some point, no idea when, maybe we will use your ideas."

So this is really about the second rounder which is well elaborated on.

ive got russell over big ben as an early 2nd rounder now

ben definitely had an advantage with that insider info but it was still a risk to act on it...wis is pretty unreliable with their updates...he couldnt leak the update(maybe a sitemail to the league?) and i wasnt gonna wait for the update...he and robusk could recuse themselves i guess?..but then wouldnt it probably get leaked out anyway why two of the most involved owners in the league are suddenly sitting out?

i dont see this as a big problem...just wish we all could have known there would be a chance for an update

This all seems very fishy to me. Jerry West. Rumor has it that ash was going to spill the beans about the update so Ben and Rob kidnapped him and he is currently tied to some railroad tracks in northeastern Manitoba.

Just to clarify, since people are lumping me into this mess, I did not know the update was even close to possibly happening later this month until right before Ben picked Russell. My next three picks were not impacted by the change.

For what I am building as my best team (we'll see if that is accurate) - appears the starting lineup will be at 100% assist %. Won't be able to sustain that with other lineups, but will be an interesting experiment how well they play together.

No need to question it - Beal was a steal. Was more than half hoping he’d slide some more but ultimately figured he’d be the first of the remaining high usage guards to go.

I don't think anyone had poor intentions when they signed up for the league with information that could impact the prioritization of the players within the draft.
That information- that some players might have a material beneficial change to their profile- is significant.

I am reiterating here- this is not an accusation of misconduct or even withholding of that said information. This WIS NBA and Savage community is fragile- especially when we drag to fill this tournament. We just don't have enough active players to risk losing a few. I was late to sign up because I knew I couldn't give it 100% again, and after half-assing the prior four that I played in, I am getting smarter about ******* away $50. It is troubling that some of us did not have access to (at a minimum) the mere speculation prior to this draft that a player could improve materially mid-stream. We have all seen multiple 24 hr delays in this tournament, it is possible we could have wrapped up much later.
If there was something in the forums that I missed the last month prior to the release where someone said "they're gonna change a bunch of relevant stuff"- I am sorry for wasting your time reading this post.

Again, not an accusation. Ben, Rob, Ash, etc- you guys are good dudes and I am not accusing you of anything or angry at you. I appreciate you for getting WIS to listen and get this correction done. Bill Russell deserves it.

There are at least (by my count) 9 out of the 24 people in this draft knew this change was coming sooner or later. Admin asked like a month and a half ago if we wanted to test it.

Of course when we said yes, he never responded and we never heard anything again until it was announced. So that gives you some sense of how ambiguous this all was.

Not a knock against admin. The fact that changes are coming rules.

fwiw, State Farm should have its fix in soon. But what soon means could be any time. And which proposed fix it is, we don’t know.

jkaye, pharrop, 24k and ben all looking really tough. Going to be hard to crack the top five this season.

About to finish the rest of this draft from Mexico Wish me luck.

I don't expect that my picks will be much delayed though, really.
