You hear people say that the culture war is something concocted by the right. That one article alone kind of proves that’s not true. The right notices these divisive statements and then left gets mad at the right for noticing.

Nah, this is bullshit. Take CRT for example. It's a critical course taught in college classes that's existed since the 70's, but some conservative activists (namely Rufo) decided to pretend that it's being taught in elementary schools all of a sudden and make it their new culture war grift. Rufo self-admits that CRT was a grift. There wasn't some escalation of CRT, it was just something that the right decided to capitalize on and make a big deal out of. Consistently you see the right take some niche culture war issue, explode it for a few months, and then ditch it when it's not politically expedient anymore.

That's why you get "critical race theory" bills that don't actually mention CRT.

Like, we actually had conservatives ranting about DR SEUSS AND MR POTATO HEAD ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE. Don't pretend that the left amplifies these issues. At best, some niche activist says something and the entire conservative movement makes it the core of their message for a month. That's not the left pushing culture war issues.

What does Bernie Sanders and AOC talk about? They talk mainly about economic policy. What do far-right people mainly talk about? Culture war bullshit. That's the difference.

To further amplify this point, listen to the average Trump speech vs the average Biden speech. Count how many times they talk about policy/economic stuff versus how many times they rant about the culture war. Also pay attention to the crowd. I've seen Bernie Sanders rallies. You know what gets the crowd excited there? ECONOMIC POLICY STUFF. You know when the Trump crowd gets the most loud? When Trump says "woke bad" or some ****. It's so incredibly obvious who cares about real issues and who is just trying to scare their base into voting for them to troll the left or whatever.

It is very dangerous when we start trying to throw our political opponents in prison. That is clearly what is going on here. The DA either bowed to the mob or has a political vendetta. I didn't like the "lock her up" chants from the right and I don't like this after hearing the lack of evidence that the prosecutors have been able to muster.

There's a pretty big difference between chanting "Lock her up" about an active political candidate versus saying the same about a random kid who shot people (even if it was in self-defense).

There may appear to be a big difference on the surface, but when you really think about the details it’s not as wide of a gap as it appears. We have known the details of this case from the get-go. Almost all of the evidence was available publicly from the on-set. The only new evidence that has been presented in trial was a FBI video that cuts in the defenses favor.

Honestly, this is worse than screaming “lock her up.” The DA knew that he didn’t have a case. He brought charges anyway because he feared a political mob. No charges were actually brought against Hillary.
The idea of claiming that DA's and people in trial are taking actions because they "fear a political mob" is a bit unsettling when not supported. You have no idea what the DA's motivations were or what they saw.
That’s the thing. We do know what they saw. They are presenting the evidence that they saw. It’s the same evidence that we have had since the very beginning. There hasn’t been any new revelations. And I agree. It’s extremely unsettling, but I don’t know what other rational conclusion that you could draw when you watch the trial.

And I agree with that also.
After full investigation charges may not have been warranted but this had such a terrible look had to be tried for the reasons you stated.

I really agree with you that the law has to be applied properly.
Somehow I am sure that most people won’t understand or accept the law.
I am sure glad that there was no racial element to this tragic mess.
A racial element was never in question by any sane person. A white guy shot 3 other white guys. I have seen articles titled things like “race is an underlying element of Rittenhouse trial.” The authors of those articles are clearly not sane people.
Only when you zoom in to the micro level, but on a larger scale, it's a white guy who brought a gun to a civil rights protest to "protect the neighborhood" or whatever and shot people. I haven't been following the trial, but I'm guessing the characterization of the protests is a pretty big influence on how someone would view his actions.

Is it the most important element? Of course not. But it's not crazy to suggest that it's an underlying element.
Okay. Let’s zoom into the details. There has been zero evidence that Kyle was associated with ANY far right group. The prosecution has even acknowledged this. The first guy that he shot was constantly screaming the n-word. You can speculate all you want, but if we’re strictly going to use facts it’s safe to surmise that Rosenbaum was the actual racist.

I agree with you. After all it was considered a BLM protest unless I am wrong about that and Fox and similar outlets were ramping up the looting and shooting stuff.
So there is an unprovable but not so crazy racial undertone to why the doe eyed baby faced Nelson became a frontier pioneer.
He became a “frontier pioneer” because a car dealership was destroyed among many other businesses. Whether you agree with his decision or not, he was there to protect private property and provide medical assistance. This has been pretty evident from most of the witnesses.

The problem is that it is taught in just a few places in public schools and has found its way into state education websites in at least Virginia. I don’t know if it is any other states’ websites.
This is accurate.

Not great. It's been about a year since she got COVID and her condition has steadily gotten worse since then. She has trouble breathing sometimes, still can't sit up, and deals with constant dizziness and chest pain. My family has gotten her checked out at a couple of hospitals and tried out some treatments, which do stop the decline for a period. She got on oxygen which has helped. We're still fighting to get insurance to help out more.

Can you link this? I'm curious. The idea that crt is taught in public schools is highly dubious.

Keep in mind that diversity training taught by clowns like Robin D'Angelo are not CRT. They're almost the opposite in a way.

Here we go again. Trump DOES care about the real issues, and unlike most of Biden & co, he knows what they are.

Meanwhile, another 5 thousand Mexican gang members will enter the US illegally.. but hey. open borders, Your current government is going to bankrupt you

Do I hope I am wrong? YES. Do I name Pelosi, Lizzie Warren, and a dozen others as America SECOND? Yes I do and they are marxists.. and they are destroying the US and the Democrats talk about woke and the other garbage too, in fact they like it. They are moral reprobates, for the large part.. and only sex perverts would endorse their agendae. In short, EG: If you don't know what gender you are, you are indeed stupid.. and there are only two. Kids get bullied now for saying that. So do adults. See how twisted this is??? Reprobates.. and woke is insane

What has all this CRT done for the US, so far??? How come today's kids cannot even spell? Or do simple math?

have at it

Please elaborate. This doesn’t make sense to me. It’s a case of a white guy shooting white guys. Yes, they were protesting alleged police violence against a black person. But Kyle didn’t have an issue with protestors. He had an issue with rioters and arsonists. I would wager that the people doing the destruction were not their because they cared about “social justice”. They saw an opportunity to do damage. This is evidenced by the fact that Rosenbaum was screaming the n-word. Most people that I know that care about “social justice” agree that the use of that word is wrong and racist if screamed by someone that isn’t black.

How old is she Tang? I won't ask what measures your family has taken re: vitamins and etc, because no doubt you are doing everything you can. This Co thing is nasty and it hits some of us very hard. I hope and pray she recovers, and in 2 years is better than any time in her last 5. Maybe you could give her first name and then we can intercede in prayer and I also believe this makes a difference.

Hang in there bub
