I don't have any idea where UofA2 was coming from with that post, but he's not a troll.

Can somebody do a guy a favor who does NOT adher to MSM for his news?

Please list for me the (potential) charges the Jury was given to choose from.
I honestly don't know but I HEARD that additional lesser charges were added (during the trial) and agreed to by both sides which gave the Jury more choices to consider within their verdict.

Is that so, and if so. what?? (charges)
I’m not sure that I could list all of the charges without googling it. It was originally 7 charges. Underage possession and violation of curfew were dismissed. I believe the other original charges were 2 counts of intentional homicide and 1 count of attempted intentional homicide. There was also a reckless endangerment charge and one more that I’m missing.

They did agree to include lesser charges. The lesser charges were just variations of the original charges. I.e. 2nd degree intentional homicide. 2nd degree reckless endangerment.

By far, the most boring part about the trial so far was listening to the jury’s instructions from the judge earlier today. Ironically, it might be the important part of the trial.
Ah. So you’re not interested in justice at all, it’s just a spectacle and partisan shitthrowing for you, got it.
Someone fill me in. Is this Uofa2 person a troll? Need to know whether to block him or not. I don’t have the time or desire to get into a bitchfest with someone who lacks reading comprehension.
That was my impression.
No one can really be that dumb.
I've never engaged because every post he makes is equal parts vitriol, testosterone and ignorance.
No he is not a troll or dumb and he reads fine.
he may have been wrong in his post but you went much much further and it was wrong.
Yeah. I’m definitely not going to feel bad about calling out someone that either can’t read or chooses not to. I have never had any interaction with UofA before. If he doesn’t want me to think he’s a dumbass the first time that he responds to something I post, he shouldn’t make dumbass statements. I trust Bob’s take on him and will withhold judgement, but I’m not going to feel bad about calling out a stupid statement.

It’s similar to when someone pretends to not know what POC means the first time I interact with them. If you don’t want my first impression of you to be that you’re an idiot, don’t act like an idiot. We’ve had some pleasant discussions since that point. I’ve enjoyed our civil conversations, but I definitely didn’t think very highly of you at the beginning.

Yeah, definitely a lot to work through especially with the lesser charges included. I think they come back tomorrow, it will be a not guilty on all counts. If it takes longer, there is a good shot that he’ll be convicted on at least one count.

Lol. Apparently someone has been whining to customer service on here. These threads have actually calmed down over the years. I’m guessing that whoever is submitting complaints is probably newer and needs to grow some thicker skin.

Gosh, I hope I wasn't the feller that didn't know POC. Reckon I could've been. But if so I weren't pretending.

I remember when I had to have someone explain SCOTUS to me. LOL.

And I ain't talking about The Court, just the acronym.............

I fully admit to being a dinosaur.
Lucky i can push the right button on this laptop most of the time.

Everybody can have a bad post from time to time but we can disparage the post itself substantively without disparaging the person.
Thats what I am saying

I Googled the charges left myself.

I haven't watched ANY of the trial, as I've admitted.

But, my view from what I can tell of that's nights events and HIS role therein IS:

He could get convicted of a Charge of Reckless Endangerment IF the Jury buys the Prosecutions closing argument that Rittenhouse INSTIGATED the events and (thus!) can't claim self defense as that seems to be his ONLY defense presented.

The question, in that case is whether it will be 1st or 2nd Degree.
I believe there was even an extra 2nd degree Reckless Endangerment charge added to the consideration over some Cameraman shooting pics.

You right leaners actually think he'll get off on ALL charges?

The cameraman was Richie McGuinness. Good dude. I like his work. Had seen his stuff before all this went down.

Yeah, I think he’ll get off on all charges.

He was clearly defending himself from Rosenbaum (guy 1).

Guy 2 kicked him in the head while he laying on the ground. He’s known in court as “jump-kick” man. He didn’t actually shoot this guy, but he shot at him twice.

The second guy that he shot hit him in the head with a skateboard while he was laying on the ground.

The guy that he shot in the arm admitted under oath that Rosenbaum didn’t shoot him until he pointed a pistol at his head.

The reckless endangerment charge is null and void if he’s found to be legally defending himself, so if you look at all of the above he should get off on this charge as well.

My views actually have nothing to do with my political leanings. Like I said, I don’t think he should be propped up as a hero. I have withheld judgement on this case (as I do with all cases) until I actually got to see the facts presented in court. After watching it, he is not guilty of the charges against him.

We can debate whether the laws are good laws. That’s actually more of a Wisconsin debate, but I don’t think people should go to jail for being within the law.

My bias typically leans towards the defense in most cases. We shouldn’t be sending people to jail unless we are absolutely certain they committed the crime.

You’re the one making comments about leftists here, disparaging the dead man for….reasons. Then you say the most important part of the trial is the most “boring,” odd choice of words, “boring.” Implying you were here for something else. It’s a trial. They’re typically boring. My grandfather the judge and my two trial attorney parents taught me thought. I wouldn’t make a comment about a “boring” aspect.

Rittenhouse may or may not get off, that’s my take. But I’m also of the belief that I’d let 100 guilty men go free before putting an innocent man in jail.

But sure yeah disparage me, cool.

When are the people being shot at or who see someone shooting allowed to defend themselves?

Your post makes zero sense. Me finding something boring has no bearing on whether I think it’s important or not. If I didn’t think it was important, I wouldn’t have listened to the 2+ hours that it took the judge to read it. Any rational person would agree that it is extremely boring. The judge said as much on Monday morning before the jury came in. They looked for ways to condense it while still being thorough, because he feared that they would lose the jury’s attention.

People that have been around for these forums for a long time know that I’m not one to disparage someone. You made a stupid statement. I asked whether it was a waste of my time to engage you. Bob said it wasn’t a waste of my time. I trust Bob. Hence, I’m engaging you right now.

And I wholeheartedly agree with your statement about 100 guilty going free. If you’re going to lock someone away behind bars, you better bring overwhelming evidence.

It comes down to who the aggressor was. The aggressor has no right to self-defense. There was no evidence actually presented that Rittenhouse antagonized the situation. He was chased, kicked in the head, hit with a skateboard, and had a gun pointed at his head.
