I'm NOT and don't intend to ever be on Twitter!
I loathe not knowledge but pompous idiots who think they know more than they do.
Again, I'll ask. Why should I care about ESPN "talking heads"??
I don't watch TV either!
I listen to John Prine.
He told me years ago to blow up my TV.
Best thing I ever did.
I understand.
This is literally just a post with a video.
You don't have to "be on twitter" to watch the video.
Why should you care? I can't answer that.
I care because I think it's dangerous and irresponsible for major media outlets to continue putting forth false information in an attempt to further brainwash the minimally informed.
John Prine is fantastic.
Sadly. John Prine WAS Fantastic.
Here's a story for you.
I'm a big fan of both Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit (His Band) and his wife and member of his band Amanda Shires, whom I was fortunate enough to watch perform and get to meet before she got as big as she is now.
Amanda was a favorite of Prine's. Enough so, that she got to open for Prine on his (I believe) final extensive tour. Including the European leg of the tour where John contracted the Covid. Amanda was promoting her latest CD "To The Sunset" at the time.
Anyways they were intimate Friends and best buddies late in Prine's life.
Here's the rest......... On the Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit CD "Reunions" there is a song called "St. Peter's Autograph".... written by Jason.
It's about Amanda's LOSS/ Her scar/fresh wound/her mourning of and missing John.
No one told me this.
I learned it by reckoning. By listening. By NOT having a TV to watch.
Jason's lyrics are as follows:
"What do I do to make you smile?
You've been hurting for awhile.
What can I do to make you laugh?
Get St. Peter's autograph
What's that distance in your eyes?
Has your faith been compromised?
What can I do to help you sleep?
I'll work hard and work for cheap.
Sometimes it's nothing but the way you're wired
And that's not your fault.
We're all struggling with a world on fire
And the fear we're taught.
Now you've lost another friend
Who couldn't stay to see the end.
He had somewhere else to be
Cut him down and burn the tree.
Now there's no shelter from the rain
I can not comprehend your pain.
But I've got arms and I've got ears
And I will always be right here.
Sometimes it's nothing but the way you were raised
And that could have been worse.
I see you suffering through the best of days
Still you put me first.
What do I do to let you know?
I'm not haunted by his ghost.
Let him dance around our room
Let him smell of your perfume.
Share your best remember when
And if He comes through here again
Maybe He can make you laugh
Bring st Peter's autograph."
I can't imagine a finer tribute to John from a friend than that song.
Now TY for a good response BTW.
"
I care because I think it's dangerous and irresponsible for major media outlets to continue putting forth false information in an attempt to further brainwash the minimally informed."
And I have a question in response to your response.
John Prine died of Covid - 19.
That's a fact. Yes, he had other complications as a (two time, I think) Cancer survivor.
None the less. Covid killed him.
So, my question.
Does your concern also include a major media outlet (Fox) who has continually promoted MISINFORMATION (and WORSE!!) on its vast Network with respect to Covid - 19 and it's dangers, etc??
Oh, do yourself a favor............ go listen to Jason Isbell.
