We agree on a lot actually. Most people do. It’s just no fun arguing about stuff that you already agree on.
That's why I was trying to bait you into an electoral college argument... oh well
I am thinking about getting the daily symposium up and running again. Maybe you and I could have an actual debate on it. That would be a blast.
Look, after I gave you the win on the Rittenhouse argument I'm just looking for a way to level the score

not Kyle related but just another example of the absurdity that is CNN.

The articles themselves aren't that bad (they don't contradict at all), but the headline on the second one is awful.

It doesn't even align with the article. It's clickbait.

Of course, you could say the same about conservatives blaming the gas prices on Biden but not crediting him for the price falling (in reality both have nothing to do with him).

ESPN helping push the false narratives and brainwash the misinformed. How irresponsible.

If you can't understand just how dangerous (and I would even argue calculated and purposeful) continuing to feed this racial divide with misinformation by our media outlets is I'm at a loss.

You're using TWITTER? as a source?? Not for me!

And just who is Matt Couch and WHY should I care?

I watched it.
You also have that opportunity but I know how you loathe actual knowledge.

ITS AN ACTUAL VIDEO OF ESPN TALKING HEADS

I'm NOT and don't intend to ever be on Twitter!

I loathe not knowledge but pompous idiots who think they know more than they do.
Again, I'll ask. Why should I care about ESPN "talking heads"??
I don't watch TV either!

I listen to John Prine.
He told me years ago to blow up my TV.
Best thing I ever did.

This is literally just a post with a video.
You don't have to "be on twitter" to watch the video.
Why should you care? I can't answer that.

I care because I think it's dangerous and irresponsible for major media outlets to continue putting forth false information in an attempt to further brainwash the minimally informed.

John Prine is fantastic.

I’m trying to remember which NBC exec years ago said, “all TV is educational. It’s more a question of what is it teaching you?”

John Prine is fantastic.
Sadly. John Prine WAS Fantastic.

Here's a story for you.
I'm a big fan of both Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit (His Band) and his wife and member of his band Amanda Shires, whom I was fortunate enough to watch perform and get to meet before she got as big as she is now.

Amanda was a favorite of Prine's. Enough so, that she got to open for Prine on his (I believe) final extensive tour. Including the European leg of the tour where John contracted the Covid. Amanda was promoting her latest CD "To The Sunset" at the time.
Anyways they were intimate Friends and best buddies late in Prine's life.

Here's the rest......... On the Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit CD "Reunions" there is a song called "St. Peter's Autograph".... written by Jason.
It's about Amanda's LOSS/ Her scar/fresh wound/her mourning of and missing John.

No one told me this.
I learned it by reckoning. By listening. By NOT having a TV to watch.

Jason's lyrics are as follows:

"What do I do to make you smile?
You've been hurting for awhile.
What can I do to make you laugh?
Get St. Peter's autograph

What's that distance in your eyes?
Has your faith been compromised?
What can I do to help you sleep?
I'll work hard and work for cheap.

Sometimes it's nothing but the way you're wired
And that's not your fault.
We're all struggling with a world on fire
And the fear we're taught.

Now you've lost another friend
Who couldn't stay to see the end.
He had somewhere else to be
Cut him down and burn the tree.

Now there's no shelter from the rain
I can not comprehend your pain.
But I've got arms and I've got ears
And I will always be right here.

Sometimes it's nothing but the way you were raised
And that could have been worse.
I see you suffering through the best of days
Still you put me first.

What do I do to let you know?
I'm not haunted by his ghost.
Let him dance around our room
Let him smell of your perfume.

Share your best remember when
And if He comes through here again
Maybe He can make you laugh
Bring st Peter's autograph."

I can't imagine a finer tribute to John from a friend than that song.

Now TY for a good response BTW.

"I care because I think it's dangerous and irresponsible for major media outlets to continue putting forth false information in an attempt to further brainwash the minimally informed."

And I have a question in response to your response.

John Prine died of Covid - 19.
That's a fact. Yes, he had other complications as a (two time, I think) Cancer survivor.
None the less. Covid killed him.

So, my question.
Does your concern also include a major media outlet (Fox) who has continually promoted MISINFORMATION (and WORSE!!) on its vast Network with respect to Covid - 19 and it's dangers, etc??

Oh, do yourself a favor............ go listen to Jason Isbell.

I know the question is directed at the fan of Bruce Lee, but I'll answer anyway. Any media outlet that is pushing misinformation is dangerous. I don't watch Fox, so I don't know what misinformation that they have pushed regarding Covid. I do know the legacy media (NBC, CNN, etc...) has pushed a ton and has done selective reporting.

I actually saw this when it came on (don't watch the NBA telecast, but it came on after something I was watching, maybe PTI). I don't think I watched over 2 minutes worth of it, but I remember Richard Jefferson saying something along the lines of "this not guilty verdict means that everything Rittenhouse did was lawful." It does bother me a little bit that ESPN would broadcast that to a national audience, because it is so blatantly false. Regardless of whether the ESPN NBA analysts are in any way experts on the legal system, they have a national platform and people will trust them. It's unfortunate.

The prosecutors brought the wrong charges to trial and were likely to lose. That doesn't mean Rittenhouse didn't do anything illegal. It means the jury could not find him guilty of charges that were specifically tied to his firing of his weapon.

Unfortunately, selective reporting seems to be the M.O. of today's "game".
It's become so widespread that a couple of the major outlets don't even pretend to abide the "canons" of professionalism that SHOULD exist within the 4th estate.

Precisely and exacto.
TY Dahs.

Pithy, too.

Bob, I don't watch Fox very often so I do not know what you're alluding to.

I'm pretty surprised a self declared non-tv watcher saw much misleading reporting from Fox or any other media outlet.

Of course if ANY media outlet is knowingly pushing a false narrative it is BAD. REALLY BAD.

What I can tell you WRT covid info is we don't yet know enough to form many conclusions. I'd have to see some examples but my gut here is saying "misinformation" may be a stretch at this early stage of the COVID knowledge base.

Have you seen the most recent VAERS numbers? They're not encouraging. Another concerning number released recently is the number of COVID deaths in 2021 have surpassed the 2020 numbers. Even with all the vaccinations.
