My 4th and 5th teams are doing what I need from them - both hovering around .500 and contending for a playoff spot. But my 1st and 3rd teams have been putrid, both sitting at 8-13. My 12-13 Lebron team is in 5th place in a bad division and is 1-10 on the road. It has to be the worst 12-13 Lebron team anyone has ever built in this format. And it was supposed to be a stacked team!
The common thread in my teams' struggles is turnovers, but even given that I am mystified at how bad that 12-13 Lebron team has been.
I think you got the right diagnosis. Your teams are the 7th worst in turnovers and 7th worst in rebounding. I have a possession battle differential metric I use (blend of rebounding, turnover and foul differential), and out of 120 teams, yours rank:
51st (W5)
81st (W1)
91st (W2)
105th (W4)
117th (W3)
It is still really early in the season and you still have LeBron. Plenty of time to turn it around. I still have faith. Just wanted to share something you could use in case you want to shuffle anything around.
Thanks, that is helpful. Unfortunately I didn't give myself much in the way of backup plans.
I expected some of my teams to be pretty middling in terms of rebounding. But not the teams in Worlds 3 and 4! The world 3 team, in particular, is over 140% CRB in the starting lineup. The backups definitely bring that down, but I still can't figure out why that team is struggling on the glass. Giving up over 15 ORB per game despite over 100% DRB in the starting lineup.
I think it is two things:
1) Really god awful bench rebounding
2) 6 out of the 7 best overall Savage rebounding squads (aggregated) by Creb% (albiband0, benhoidal, jkaye24, 20ks, beloud and NotoriousJ) are all in the same conference as you, which is impacting the heft of your raw %'s
