Do you guys think WIS should add a new world in the near future?

Pros:
Would add serious excitement to the game and at least cause a short-term uptick in the total population.
It is really hard to get elite jobs right now and it would open up the highly coveted elite jobs for the newer coaches who came in during the last year or so.
No new world has been added in *so* long so it would be a new experience for the vast majority of the experience

Cons:
Pretty simple here, some would be worried it would further dilute population from the existing worlds and lead the game to feel more like a ghost town.

Yes, a but a hardcore world. Something different enough so as to not cannibalize the populations of the other worlds right off the bat. For starters, I think it should be a world with a 60-year cap on career (you can start over with a wiped history, or as “shoe3[2]” or whatever) after 60 years is up, or whenever you decide to “retire”. Give us a Hall of Fame here, too, upon retirement, for players and coaches! And this would be the perfect place to implement the increased firing mechanisms some folks say they want.

If it proves to be super popular, eventually some other worlds could be rolled into that style. Not all or even most, but a few, perhaps.

Would be cool but agree that it needs to be something different. Maybe something as simple as no baseline prestige. But it would be amazing to rally the community and try to get as many people as possible to join and then treat this world as the best of the best.

I like the idea of a new world but it doesn't need to be anything unique like that. It'll just be confusing to people. Starting a new world from scratch is enough incentive for people to pick up another team. I know I would and I've been pretty burned out with HD for a couple years now.

How many people need to sign a petition to get them to listen. I’ll ask Tarek tomorrow but I don’t think he has any pull anymore.

Love this shoe, think its perfect tbh

Also Cub, I was on this same mission to get a new world a long time ago. Back then the reason that everyone said "no, we can't possibly do it" was that a New World would dilute the population of the other worlds that, at the time, were already losing player population.

But that happened anyway, new world or not, so why not have a new world at this point, especially one that could benefit the game long term like the one shoe suggested. I'm not sure how many people here were around for the openings of Knight and Phelan (which was SUCH a mistake to open them both so closely, we get 2 new worlds in however many years and some/a lot of people actually did not care about Phelan opening because they had already started off well with Knight or couldn't afford to add 2 teams) but anyway, The Race to D1 Elites, climbing the ladder against other coaches while competing directly against the best.... was the most fun I have ever had with any kind of game like this ever, not just HD. It also brought extreme levels of activity to the forums as people were doing pre-season rankings with teams, ranking coaches' resumes and predicting who would have the top job opportunities among other things. It was a huge scandal-type deal when it became discovered that a D3 coach could have tremendous success and bypass D2 completely and actually end up in D1 faster than those who were fighting it out in a bloodbath in D2 against each other. That stuff still sticks with me because of how fun a new world was.

Great writeup. Would definitely be a dream scenario for the game.

Maybe eventually. Before they even consider creating a new world, they have a lot of issues to fix with the existing game. If improvements can be made and the user population increases in the current worlds, only then would I think about a new world.

Close two ... open one for the displaced coaches ONLY. Strict enforcement of one team per world.

If that works, after five seasons or so do it again, plus open the first new world to everyone, with improved hiring/firing.

Simply making ghost towns more ghostly with a new world makes no sense at all. At least this way competition would be improved overall.

I have never been a fan of closing worlds. It will only **** people off and likely cause them to drop teams.

Really disagree with this. Definitely don’t close any worlds. We are probably already above ideal operating capacity for how 3.0 works at D1 after the job change. 150 filled jobs is a TON, and it leads to a lot of rolls in D1 recruiting.

admin will likely say that all worlds have to be the same - one engine - one scheme

If everyone was starting in D3 (for however many seasons required), wouldn't there be an unbelievable amount of talent that ends up there in the first couple years of recruiting? If there aren't humans in D1, what do the first few years of recruiting look like from the lower levels?

Exactly.

But how would implementation of these different rules even work for the consumer. Let's say I'm new to HD so I go to pick a world to join. I see there are worlds that sim 1 game a day and worlds that sim 2 games a day. Okay simple enough for my tiny brain to understand.

But now you'd have a world that says "no baseline prestige" or "no recruit projected division" or whatever hell other idea people want to pilot. As a noob, I read that and say "wtf does that mean. What's baseline prestige?? "

It's all just way too complicated and confusing. This game is complicated enough, no need to build a rocket ship.
