Both NebHusker and mllama54 have used their Indians pick, so I can jump ahead and grab my catcher now. Really wanted Chris Hoiles here.

I posted the average salary by position yesterday. From that table, I can calculate how much over or under the average each person is throughout the draft. I will post that total when I post the "Position Bucket Matrix". The reason why this number is useful is it is a better prediction of where each person will end up, in terms of final salary. For example, calhoop has been picking near the top of the draft every round, but that is because he has three RPs, and very expensive RPs. He actually has the 6th highest salary (when factoring in positional average) through 7 rounds.

2002 Jeff Kent - 2b - Giants - $6,667,646

Can't believe Jeff Kent was the 15th 2B taken. The only reason I took Giles over Kent was I wanted to keep Buster Posey in play for my catcher options. Nice pick.

Funny thing is my 1st pick was a Giant so I marked out the rest of the team right away and hadn’t realized he was still available until the recent 2b run.

Another guy who fell further than I expected.

I got 3 different guys targeted here. My guess they will all be gone by next round. If anyone started this draft with a "PLAN" and is still using that plan I'd be interested to know how you are doing it. Like the 16X16 drafts this one is as complicated and even more frustrating. Drafting towards the top of each round doesn't help as much as you might think. There are too many picks afterwards that gobble up players on my Plan.

I'll take SS

I’m doing a write-up as the draft progresses to capture my real-time shifts in thinking. I will say I veered from my plan by Round 3 but I’ve mostly stuck to it otherwise. I’m pretty sure franchise and position scarcity are going to force a lot of tough decisions in the next few rounds though.
