Distribution Help/Suggestions Topic

I am looking for some help/suggestions for distribution settings for the upcoming season - my 4th in D1. I know what my settings would be, but am curious to see the opinions of others so I can tell I'm making some mistakes or overlooking something.

So, if anyone would like to volunteer, below is my starting lineup for the upcoming. I am just trying to get a baseline setting so please disregard the defensive matchups and just assume all the defenders have equal defensive ability and appropriate ath/sp for their position.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

I would probably start with something like:
PG - 7
PG - 2
SF - 1
PF - 2
C - 5

I usually give my players 1-5, and try to keep a total around 25. But your starting PG is going to need more shots as your only 3pt shooter (and a good one at that). Obviously you want to give him a +2 3pt setting with everyone else getting a -2. Your center has good LP rating, but I don't think he'll score as efficiently with his ATH and BH being a little low.

If your SG gains some BH, he might be a decent "slasher" by the end of the season when his IQ gets a little higher. His SPD/ATH/FT combo could give him a decent TS% if he gets to the line.

What off set do you run?

I’d start with
pg - 10
sg - 0-1
sf - 0-1
pf - 5-7
c - 7-8

Your pg is your best flex scorer. If I am worried about a doubleteam, I will tend toward more balanced distribution (7 and 8 from the secondary scorers) but if I’m not worried about that - ie if I’m a big underdog, or if my opponent is pressing - tend toward less balance.

The pg should always be the top scorer with flex? What if you have a hot 3-pt shooting SG?

Oh no, that’s not what I meant. This specific pg is the best scorer, in a flex system. If it was triangle, the C would be pretty close for me.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely experiment and try them.

Also, if anybody is still reading the thread, one more question.

I have two incoming freshman who will probably see ~ 10 minutes per game. Their offensive numbers are ~ 20 points higher than other substitutes, but offensive IQ is F and limited in support attributes. Would you keep their distribution numbers at 1 until there IQ improves and secondary attributes improve or would you go ahead and give them 2 or 3 in distribution if the best offensive players were getting 6-8 for distribution in this example?
SG 62 27 43 70 28 42 13 57 86 59 53 68 C+
C 50 59 71 17 78 57 67 86 12 28 21 39 C+

Thanks again in advance for any suggestions.
