There was a time I'd scout as soon as the database updated. These days I'm lucky if I remember to do it the night before recruiting starts. How many people find this a chore? I've heard HD is better than some of the other WIS games, but I just don't find it fun. I'm still enjoying most aspects of this game, but I hate the thought of having "busy" work for a game I'm supposed to be having fun with.
I don't know how to make it better. Maybe it doesn't need to be better. I just don't enjoy it as my seasons in this game add up.
Know exactly what you mean. I may start all of my walk-ons, put everybody else as "mop-up"
Just got totally screwed recruiting. I was ahead 74% to 26%, Very High to High, B- to D+, promised minutes, 16 home visits. AND I still lost the recruit. To hell with this site; tired of wasting time & money.
Is it the school that you've been at for 3 seasons? Or the one where it's your first season?
Overall the new job hiring rules have been fine, but one problem that I've keep seeing is coaches jump to D1, strike out on recruits, and then rage quit.
Yeah, losing a roll as the heavy favorite sucks. But you let a D+ school hang around? Spend some time rebuilding the school. Instead of blaming the system, maybe think about what you could have done better. It can take up to 1 year in real life to maximize all your preferences (long-term coach, success, etc). Have some patience and learn from your mistakes. Be flexible in recruiting. Do the scouting work and make sure you have backups. There's ALWAYS decent backup options if you look around.
Or you could just give up and quit. To be honest, if you're not trying to learn the D1 game, then you're not going to be successful anyways. It will be a waste of money, but it won't be WIS's fault.
