First of all, it's often more than 3 wins, and 3 wins is 3 wins, and it is spread across multiple teams getting those easy wins for a boost. Like I said that you ignored, they don't do more because the rubes would start to suspect something is amiss. That's why they stick with one, maybe occasionally two accounts like this. Bottom feeder teams in every League? A recipe for more money spent here. 100%.
This person is not a real account, and the fact that you only addressed the extra wins point is hilarious, telling, predictable, and lazy. and yes, I still say that knowing there is a 0.1% chance I'm wrong. Perhaps 0.01%.
Secondly, ask yourself, what would it take for you to even consider this as a possibly? Damn...
Thirdly, yes, plenty of people enjoy things on WIS "differently than me".
No one who is dropping endless $thousand$ worth of teams would ever play like that, for decades.
And fourth, there are all the other points I made you ignored. Nice substantive rebuttal. Obviously we disagree, but anyone who is fooled by this account just strikes me as painfully naïve and ...optimistic in the most the most bizarre way possible. Needless to say, your post did less than nothing to sway me away from my own view.
Hey Bru, how's it going guy who never responds to any comment ever in any forum or any league and who always plays the same way for years and only makes a couple lazy roster changes which is exactly what an admin account would do to fool the rubes... How's it going?
It’s pretty much 2 wins. I used 3 to be generous to your argument. Against an non-bru OL team your typical W% is .500. So you’ll win 6-7 games depending on alignment. Against bru typical W% is around .650, so 8-9 wins. 8-9 minus 6-7 = 2.
Wouldnt consider this a possibility at all. As I stated in my previous post it would go against both WIS stated competitive goals, as well as bru single-handedly disrupted their AAA removal, and WIS stated they didn’t expect, nor understand why, an owner would have that many teams waiting to go and they had to work around that to get work around to the AAA removal.
Your other points had already been addressed in this thread, didn’t feel the need to address them.
Mostly it come down to if bru were a bot it’d be bad for business. Don’t see WIS intentionally ruining trust over something so insignificant. OLs fill up fast enough a bot isn’t needed to fill them faster, especially for 1-team. They also weren’t aware of bru and it disrupted their own processes. Creating a bot for this purpose would use more development resources than fixing some of the actual issues in the pipeline.
Roster changes require effort beyond what a bot would do given the already built in roster options for the historical teams.
Bru also uses a somewhat systematic order for the historical teams, but has gone out of order with one-offs on more than one occasion.
Many people never respond to league comments. Shoot, one guy I introduced to the site years ago builds his teams, sets his settings and never looks again and just comes back when he gets the final standings email to download the csv files. Guarantee he’s never even known people were commenting to him if they did.
You ever try sitemailng bru?
bru very well may be a bot, but if so, it’s a user-generated bot and has nothing to do with WIS. Shoot, barely a year ago I put 72 identical teams into OL and CL trying to get data for my fatigued pitchers posts. I could easily see myself thinking it be fun to run a single season version of every team in history through OLs and tracking how they did.
Inspired by bru and jonjoerob, I’ve already run 2003 Mariners, 2007 Cubs, 2019 Diamondbacks and had a blast with each of them. I’ve got other fatigie related teams running right now (two appearance fatigue tests and two SP in relief tests), but I’m sure I’ll go back to other things like this again once those are done.
I just don’t grasp the “he’s a bot” conspiracy when the only thing that suggests it is “this person plays a ton of teams in a different way than most people”
