Enough folks have raised concerns about NotOmarMinay's missed picks, that I thought it was time to post my stance.
NotOmarMinay has been in many drafts with us and his personal schedule has always made it a challenge for him to post his picks during his assigned time slots. Obviously this draft has been a particular challenge and he acknowledged that with some of his earlier picks.
My position is that based on his history of drafting, I believe he will eventually catch up and we should just continue to proceed with the draft using the same process we use for all picks.
If I am wrong and he never re-appears, I will fill out his roster with players remaining at the end of the draft and add that team into the league.
You do a great job running this league, so whatever you say goes as far as I'm concerned. Imho, the biggest problem is that NotOmarMinay just happens to pick on the turn every other day in this particular draft. On those days he puts a complete halt to the draft all night long. So until he catches up, would you consider allowing us to ignore his time slot during the time that he ignores this draft? In other words, after ejstockman picks at 8:00 pm allow him to also make his 9:30 am pick without waiting all night for a guy who has disengaged. That would keep the draft going, at least if ejstockman wants to proceed. Then if NotOmarMinay ever re-engages, we could go back to paying attention to his time slots. After all, you did ask folks to commit to doing this draft on these dates.
I hear what you are saying, but I honestly don't see a problem and I prefer to continue to treat NotOmarMinay's draft slots the same as everyone else's.
I'm going to explain what I see, but nobody should read this as a complaint in any way.
re: "That would keep the draft going, at least"
Up until this past turn of rounds, we never made it past the first pick of the next round on any of the turns. So if that did not "keep the draft going" it was not unique to NotOmarMinay. This last turn we made it all the way to pick #7 in round 15 which was scheduled for Noon the next day. I guess that could constitute "keep the draft going". But by 1:30 pm today we were back to being exactly on schedule for pick #10. So even having made it through almost a third of the round, we immediately caught back up. Again, I am not complaining, but I don't see the multi-hour lag between two picks this morning as any better or worse than having to wait until the morning to make the next pick.
