I'm doing a replacement job, and the previous owner had taken a pitcher with an 85 overall rating to arbitration a 3rd time. He now won't sign an extension, but will he sign one with a team that trades for him?

If he has a decent patience rating, yes.

1/ He handles half as many chances in CF. At 2B his Glove is just okay, less chance for fielding errors in CF.
2/ Range is Plus at either position; outfielders don't make throwing errors in HBD so his weak arm doesn't factor.
3/ He's a Plus hitter for the CF position; average for 2B.

Go to your Franchise Center >> Adjust User Settings

Ok I can’t remember this one either because it’s been so long.

new franchise, I have the 5th overall pick plus because of type A compensation I have the 23rd puck, the 38th pick, and the 57th. My second round pick is the 71st.

if I sign a type A guy do I lose the 23rd pick or the 71st?

The 23rd is a compensatory pick, right? If that's the case you'd lose the 71st. Compensatory picks only get drawn from your base picks. You won't lose any Type A or Type D picks (or sandwich round picks) as part of compensation for signing a Type A yourself.

Just a quick question. I took over a team that has extremely high payroll. That is not the issue, the issue is many players from ages 28-32 have lost 2-9 points off the overall ratings since last season. I was surprised as they were active and none were on the DL last season. What would cause players in their prime to lose ratings that drastic being they are not "past their prime". Thanks in advance To be precise I joined a world and have this team I did not take it over during the season.

One possible answer is that some ratings peak and fall early (particularly range, arm strength, and power). So if their overall was correlated with those types of ratings you might see overall rating fall off faster. Other than that (with less confidence) poor coaching could factor in and low makeup ratings.

Low training budget?

I was thinking that. The previous owner had a 5 million budgeted for training and medical. The payroll without arb contracts (35 million) is already 119. So if I don't trim the payroll to have more money for training it will be the same again after this season. The prime players will take another huge hit on the ratings.
