looks like the owners of the early years teams have a big advantage with a much deeper pool of veteran players and less competition for them being drafted by someone else
Hold that thought. It's in the very very early stages and I'm seeking help ironing out the specifics and maybe it's just an idea I'd happily hand off to someone to run with, but how about a prog where the seasons aren't consecutive, but staggered approx 4 years apart so that each season every team is playing from every historical era simultaneously with everyone else.
funny you mention 4 years at a time :))
Joe (razorclams) created / is running a 4-year that Progresses 4 years at a time that started in (1885 - 1888) - the "Grand Slam Progressive" You choose the specific season of the 4 your player plays in, It's a 16-teamer -- we are drafting season 4 now (1897 - 1900), If we need openings I'll mention it to you & those of us here.
Also Dave (dasphinger) ran a 7-Year itch that started maybe 1901? that is wrapping up our final season (2015 - 2021) so they are out there & Way more fun & interesting than the single season slog or even dual season drafts -- Cheers!
