So how do you feel about Jokic now?
I kinda meant after the league is over. Can he carry a team, with DeAndre he'll have to do. But mostly like the team around him to this point, with pretty good D.

wait i thought 50% was the floor?

I think Seble gave us bad information.

From our testing, build teams like you would have before but don't worry about hitting some magic number; it doesn't exist.
Bad info from seble, shocking........

Trying a new outlook on drafting, since I only get above mediocre maybe 10% of the time. Seeing as I'm not good at draft leagues, constructive criticism is welcomed.

C- Moses/Boerwinkle
PF-Willis/next pick
SF-Gerald Wallace/Amir
SG-Klay/Reggie
PG-Magic/Pressey

My last 2 guys might sneak minutes in one world over a Pressey/Reggie season or as Willis' backup.

My approach to this league has changed so much since the start that any kind of old fashioned advice I could give is probably unhelpful. I really only notice other people's teams if they take several guys I either had my eye on to take next or just passed over recently. On your team, Gerald Wallace was a guy I heavily considered multiple times, so I think you got extremely good value out of him.

In a conventional sense, I like both Magic & Moses' value where you got them, and Willis has pretty good value, too (I think you got him in round 5?). I think Klay in round 3 is about where he should go, and he gives you exactly what you need with those other 4 guys on the floor. Pressey is a fine backup for Magic, particularly gotten where you got him. Reggie is Klay without defense - can't expect much more at this late. I've used Amir several times in this league, and he's solid, but I don't think I usually took him till 11 or 12. Still, he's very solid. I'm extremely low on guys like Boerwinkle now, but again, you didnt't reach to get him. I'd call your team solid all around, and I'm not sure what specifically I'd tell you to do differently than you did this time; each pick made sense when you made it. There's not much better you can do than that!

Thanks, Ash. I wasn't totally sold on Boerwinkle, but figured his DRebs and Ast% could help with Moses/Willis being more OReb guys that turn the ball over. I had given up on getting Crash when I took Klay, but somehow he stuck around.

I usually try to build teams with more narrative in mind than logic. That somewhat works for me in progs, but I'm trying to add a little more logic to my draft league teams.

I am just trying to pick players who have gone higher in previous drafts than when I draft them. Gonna be interesting to see how DRob/Towns play on the floor at the same time. I know I am weak at 3's, but hopefully still time to remedy that. I think I'll be good on the boards with Admiral/Towns/Ho Grant at the 3/ Westbrook/Roundfield. TO's will be a problem. Offense won't be. Defense should be middle of the pack.

Who is Roundfield, I thought you drafted Dam Rpimdfe;d.

In Savage 7, only one time - and it was a late round - did my target get taken either right before me & or a few picks before. In this draft, it has happened, at least half the time, and I screwed up my whole draft because of it.

I have not had time to do detailed team builds due to work/life, and it's probably sabotaging me at this stage of the draft. I was very happy with my first five picks and think I got good value and fit with all of them, but I'm a little hazy on the details of who is backing up who and how much usage I still need (or don't need) at the moment. Both Bynum and Horford will probably back up Davis occasionally, but I need to figure out how often and how effectively they can do that to figure out what I still need behind him. Haven't taken an Erving backup yet but I think I have some good options there. Beyond that I may need a handful more minutes at the 1 (behind Lowry/McConnell) and 3 (behind Horford/Batum). Probably also a few more backup minutes behind Capela/Bynum/Bamba as well, again depending on how often Bynum will be backing up Davis.

My quick reaction is: this has to be too many turnovers. Defense looks good though.

Think you're spot-on, Tarheel. I usually draft a little too low in Usg, so I went higher, which bumped up my TOs a lot. I think it's an overcomeable problem, not like I drafted George McGinnis, but it could kill my chances of contending.

I’ll do evals at the end I think. Whenever find some bulk free time.

Curious to hear thoughts on Cheeks. 98 ADP (early 5th) goes late 9th. I used to value him highly and he was near the top of my list of mid round value PG who play great D, solid passing and efficient yet low usage scorer. My opinion has evolved as I've evolved my strategy and seen what's successful, but I still think he's pretty valuable. For me with Kawhi, Luka I took Moncrief for the first time to get even better D and the usage. Curious to hear others thoughts on Cheeks. Was it just a situational thing where everyone had a guard, other needs or needed usage? Or something else.

I am not a fan. I have no use for a low usage PG who doesn’t shoot threes, high TO% and is an atrocious rebounder. I can’t fathom ever drafting him. That’s just a brutal combination of weaknesses in this format. I love Moncrief because he can defend three positions, is an excellent offensive rebounder for a guard and has a much lower TO%.

Was thinking about this and remembering that someone started Cheeks at PG and an unnamed thunderous Suns player at SF and somehow still finished top 10. **** goes crazy sometimes.
