Just curious: How many people are doing the all the eggs in 2 or 3 baskets strategy vs gunning for playoffs in all 5? I am gunning for playoffs in all 5 and hoping to win the whole thing in one of them.
I always try and balance out the teams, although some invariably come out better than others. I hoped for all five but with this division draw I am praying for three.

I'll actually slightly amend my previous statement on further review. I have one team that I think is definitely the best; one that is very likely 2nd best; and the other three could finish in any order.
4 looked like the best to me, 2 and 5 second/third best. You have a different read?

Just SM'd this to someone but might as well share it. Compared to last season:

I've got better shooting.

I've got much better steals, blocks and defense.

I've got worse rebounding, assists and fouls.

I've got much worse threes.

I have the same turnovers.

Interesting. I think my team in World 1 (Ginger) is definitely the best; World 5 (Sporty) second best.

World 4 (Scary) does have the big-boy Bynum and best Bamba season, but also has the lowest-minute Davis, lowest-minute Capela, and the worst or second-worst Lowry season.

The per minute value on Davis, Capela, Bynum and Batum are all sky high on W4.

Yeah just not all that many minutes, but point taken. If that team ends up one of my top 2, either I miscalculated the others or my season will be really good.

I don't know if 120,326 total minutes is the least any one person drafted, but it has to be close. Just glancing at the draft results, gerryred, raggedclaws, tarheel1991 and benhoidal all also look a little low.
I went very low on minutes - my squads combine for 110,111. Each team has at least 20,116 though. This actually exceeds my total from last Savage, which was 106,280.

Other than Vanderbilt's three missing years, the only seasons I don't have penciled in for at least six minutes are one from Dwight Powell and one from Nurkic. The guys who don't play full minutes are mostly Pat Bev (except in Delon's 5th underwhelming season where I made sure to use a strong Pat Bev), D Powell, and Nurkic. Everyone else is giving me full or close - I just chose a few low min Kermit seasons because I had the wiggle room and wanted to.

I had a team in season 2 that only had 19,700 minutes... and it never recovered from a 5 OT game.

Ouch. It's a bit of a risk, but I don't remember it being an issue last year other than having to manage the minutes of weird guys like Tree a little more carefully.

I had a huge minutes 3 and D wing I planned on taking late in the draft to pad the mins, but they went much earlier than I expected.

I'm running with 4 9 man teams, and one 8 man team, so my total minutes not relevant. Very nervous about only using an 8 man rotation though.

Yeah I’m doing 4x 8-man & 1x 9-man. With how the sub logic works, I know I’m in for an uphill battle getting it to work right. That might be my biggest downfall tbh

My experience has been fine running small rotations in leagues as long as I have the minutes. I have always been of the mind that depth chart sub problems are extremely overblown and the occurrences of them happening are extremely minuscule compared to the whole. The oddity of them makes them feel bigger to the user, but this is based on my observations. I don't have frequency data or an easy way to mine that.

You may remember that this is sort of a pet peeve issue of mine. The biggest issue is how it manifests in foul trouble situations, often with players who aren't even on the depth chart at a position (or particularly effective there) coming in over ones who are.

I think it's also more of a problem in leagues like this, and progressives, where you often have excess minutes. When you have right around 19600, it's harder for the SIM to pull from elsewhere because everyone is set for their max minutes. When you have extra minutes, the SIM will make wrong assumptions about who needs to play in foul trouble or fatigue situations based on how many minutes guys are set for on the depth chart. It's just really frustrating to me that we still don't have simple player hierarchies like the one in the baseball SIM (player rest hierarchy, foul trouble/fatigue hierarchy) that would easily solve the problem, even if it is fairly minor.

I forgot how much I used to love this ****. I’m pumped for the season to start. I have no idea if my teams will be good or bad.

I used to draft with spreadsheets and stuff, this time I was just like “Dwyane Wade and Steve Nash would be a cool f*cking backcourt in real life, let’s do that.”

Anyway, try to have fun, everyone. That’s what this is all about.
